The new Gudetama Café will open in Ikebukuro from June 26 to September 4, themed entirely around Gudetama, one of Sanrio’s most popular characters.
The concept behind the café is Gudetama launching into to space to celebrate his 5th anniversary. The menu too will take on this theme – Gudetama in space – offering plenty of unique items perfect for Instagram feeds.
Gudelien Mars Pasta – ¥1,390 + Tax
Nicknamed ‘Gudelian’ (Gudetama + Alien), we have a mysterious mashed potato Gudetama embarking to Mars with his a tomato sauce body and red paprika legs.
GUFO – ¥1,390 + Tax
The GUFO, or Gudetama Unidentified Flying Object. Here we have Gudetama made from egg, monaka and mini tomatoes floating atop mousse-like purple sweet potato. Hidden underneath is tomato flavoured pho.
Gudetama’s Butt Discovery! Black Curry – ¥1,190 + Tax
Gudetama’s butt has become a huge star centered in the middle of a black curry. Nisetama-san marks his discovery with a flag. Orbiting the giant butt are meatballs, cabbage and mushrooms.
Zero Gravity Gudetama Burger – ¥1,290 + Tax
This dessert is made to look like a burger, with an apricot Gudetama, mango custard, chocolate ice cream, strawberry sauce and French toast.
Black Hole Jar Parfait – ¥1,190 + Tax
The icing on the doughnut creates a galaxy design. Inside the jar is chocolate sponge cake, blackcurrant, mint cream, berries, chocolate ice cream and more.
Gudetama Planet Tea – ¥990 + Tax
When you pour the herbal butterfly pea tea over the giant cotton candy Gudetama, something mysterious happens… Add the peach syrup to add another refreshing layer to the taste. Perfect for the season.
Gudetama Lightbulb Soda – ¥850 Each + Tax
Choose from three flavours: strawberry, mango or blue Hawaii. You can take the lightbulb bottles away with you too.
Customers who dine in the café will receive an original novelty present. Those who eat there will also get a fan, and those who order a drink will get a coaster. Each item will discontinue once all are sold.

Crayon Shin-chan’s 30th Anniversary Exhibition will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City starting December 17, 2022. Humorously titled The Adventure in Ass Wonderland, the interactive exhibition will pay homage to the past three decades of the beloved anime series. In conjunction with the event, a key visual drawn especially for this exhibition has also been unveiled. This special exhibition looking back on the 30th anniversary of the anime series and films will feature many hands-on Crayon Shin-chan projects based on the theme of Shinnosuke’s butt.
