Funassyi Themed Café ‘Funassyi Shokudo’ to Open in Harajuku

26.June.2018 | FOOD / SPOT

Funassyi Shokudo is a café themed on mascot character Funassyi who represents the city of Funabashi, Chiba. It will open on the third floor of Cute Cube Harajuku at Harajuku Kawaiiya from July 2 to August 5 where they will serve themed food and sell original merchandise.

Funassyi is known for its crazy and erratic behaviour, but this time the pear fairy will be toning itself down and taking on more traditional Japanese etiquette, serving up a range of classic Japanese dishes.

The Funassyi merchandise will be different from usual too. There will be 18 items to get your hands such as plushies, a teacup, tea-towel, keyring and more, all with a ‘food’ theme.

The menu will include a list of meals, desserts and drinks. Tuck into meat and potatoes, tsukemen, anmitsu, cupcakes and more.

To celebrates Funassyi’s 1880th birthday (yes, you read that right!), 20 birthday cakes will be served every day between July 2 to 8 for ¥1,480.

Additionally, if you purchase Funassyi merchandise from KIDDY LAND Harajuku and show your receipt at the café, you’ll receive 10% off food and drinks! And if you spend over ¥1,000 (pre-tax) on Funassyi merchandise at the store and show your receipt at the café, you’ll have the chance to win an original Funassyi Shokudo sticker.

Visit Funashi Shokudo this summer to enjoy a kawaii themed menu and get your hands on Funassyi merch.
