UK Matcha Company Matchaeologist Opens Japanese Website

28.June.2018 | Uncategorized

UK-based matcha brand Matchaeologist held a pre-opening of their Japanese e-commerce website on June 26. The website is scheduled to hold its grand opening on July 10. Customers who ordered from the website during the pre-opening will receive stickers with the brand logo on them.

Matchaeologist describes themselves as artisanal matcha green tea specialists who have expanded worldwide across Europe and the US. They have over 110,000 followers on their Instagram page where people enjoy high quality photos of their beautiful products.

The company completed their first trip to Japan in fall last year at ELLE cafe’s matcha fair.

Matchaeologist’s matcha is grown carefully in the world-famous matcha hub of Uji in Kyoto which is used to create an original blend. They strive to support this traditional ceremonious beverage as well as the matcha farmers themselves.

It’s custom in Japan to drink matcha as it is. Additionally, it’s predicted that the number of matcha artisans and farmers will decrease in the future. To tackle this, Matchaeologist are selling a ‘Matcha Brewing Kit’ to not only expand the popularity of matcha but make it part of everyday life and something that anybody can prepare.

This is the perfect opportunity to get hands on with part of Japan’s traditional culture. Be sure to check out Matchaeologist’s product page.
