The packaging of the German spit cake takes on the design of the first, seventh and eighth train carriages of the Hello Kitty shinkasen. It would make an amazing gift for any train otaku.
The strawberry flavour is the amaou variant, a type of strawberry Fukuoka is well-known for. The sweet and sour baumkuchen is baked carefully and comes in at a huge 50cm in length and 3cm in diameter.

The new musical using the motif of “Kabuki (Japanese traditional drama performed by male actors) named “KAWAII KABUKI ~HELLO KITTY Ichiza no Momotaro~” will be performed from at Meruhen Theater inside Puroland from the 10th of March 2018 (Sat.)
A press conference was held on the 7th of March (Wed.) and persons who are related to the play such as Kensuke Yokouchi who produced the script/rendition/lyrics of the play (he has been producing “Super Kabuki”) and Esaburo Ichikawa, a kabuki acting coach, participated in the press conference. Also, Sanrio’s characters including HELLO KITTY appeared on the stage.
It can be said that it is a new type of “spectacle entertainment show” using projection mapping and the motif of kabuki. The performance incorporates both the “kawaii” of Sanrio and the traditional “wa” culture of Japan.

“Kyoto Ninenzaka HELLO KITTY Saryo” was renewed as a café using the motifs of matcha on the 28th of April (Sat.)
Kyoto is a city where the culture of Japanese tea has developed and one of the founders of this culture, Kennin Temple is located near the cafe. The history of matcha dates to the period when Eiseizenshi brought back seeds of tea from So (a kingdom that used to rule present China). The matcha brand “Ujimatcha” has been developed in the Uji area since the area is suited for growing tea leaves.
The café will sell some collaborative menu items with HELLO KITTY using Ujimatcha, so let’s try out their new products as well as their take-out menu items.

Enter the world of Hello Kitty at HELLO KITTY SMILE, an oriental restaurant that's opening on Awaji Island―Japan's ingredient gold mine―on April 27, 2018.
Organic and eco-friendly are the keywards at this restaurant, where they serve luxury fusion food made using traditional Chinese cooking techniques that incorporates Japanese elements. You can also enjoy dozens of varieties of High Tea from inside and outside Japan, pinchos, and more.
Projecting mapping will be used to bring to life the world of Hello Kitty on orbs in the restaurant spanning a diameter of close to 14m. The restaurant will also be home to a theatre where you will be immersed in the wonderland of Hello Kitty's dreams.
The spherical LED lights that float overhead change with Hello Kitty's mood and feelings with projection mapping that tells the story of Hello Kitty's dream world.
The walls of the theatre will be decorated with things like apples and teacups that make up Kitty's world.
There will also be a giant kaleidoscope standing 2m tall and 3m wide where you can see admire her world with moving images of Hello Kitty and her friends.
A shop selling limited edition merchandise will also be open, so if you're a Hello Kitty fan you've definitely got to visit!

Starting September 3, Keio Plaza Hotel Tama will offer a special dinner and dessert buffet inspired by the Sanrio characters Hello Kitty and Wish Me Mell. The adorable event will take place at the Jurin restaurant on the 4th floor, and guests will be able to enjoy some cute dishes and desserts inspired by the character’s gratitude. The event will run until October 30 and will only be held on weekends and holidays. The restaurant’s patissier has designed a collection of sweet dishes based on the two characters, from strawberry shortcakes inspired by Wish Me Mell’s outfit to pastel-colored cakes and rainbow jello.
