  • New Details Drop On BABYMETAL’s New Album ‘METAL GALAXY’

    09.August.2019 | MUSIC

BABYMETAL are set to release their third album METAL GALAXY worldwide on October 11. The record marks three years since Metal Resistance hit shelves across the globe, which peaked at No. 1 and No. 3 on the weekly and yearly US Billboard Charts respectively for World Albums.

In their home country of Japan, the new album will receive an exclusive Japan Complete Edition release which features two CDs. The tracklist as well as the jacket design for the limited-edition vinyl release have been unveiled.

BABYMETAL have toured the world countless times, snapping photos with the biggest artists in music today and posting them to their social media, as well as joining some of them as guest acts on tour including Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica.

The international release of METAL GALAXY will feature 14 tracks, but the Japan Complete Edition will include an additional 2 songs. This is the first time they have released a Japan-only CD with two discs. The album takes on the concept of dichotomy, with things like light and darkness, and sun and moon, at their core, which according to the band will give rise to “a new kind of metal.”

The album features five international guest artists: Tak Matsumoto of B’z joins the band on DA DA DANCE, Sabaton vocalist Joakim Brodén is on board for Oh! MAJINAI, Polyphia guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage step up to Brand New Day, Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz features on Distortion, and F.HERO on PA PA YA!!

On the same day that the album drops on October 11, BABYMETAL will perform at The Forum in Los Angeles. BABYMETAL will begin their US tour in September before heading on tour in Japan in November. Their European tour will follow shortly after in February 2020.
