GOODGLAS double-walled animal-themed glasses at Tokyu Department store!

Double-walled glass pioneer GOODGLAS will be selling cute animal-themed glasses at four Tokyu Department stores for a limited time only starting from 30th May 2019. The four limited stores are Shibuya main store, Shibuya station Toyoko store, Kichijoji store and Tama Plaza Kanagawa store. 

Bear: ¥3,200 + tax

Labrador: ¥3,200 + tax

The double-walled glasses will come in the following designs: Dog, cat, duck, bear, labrador, wild boar, grape, and cherry blossom.

Shiba Inu dog: ¥3,200 + tax

Bunny: 3,500 + tax

Cat: ¥3,500 + tax

From 8th June, more mug designs will be added to the series shown above! The Shiba Inu dog mug, which was fully sold out soon after it was launched for sale back in April, is making a comeback! There will also be two more brand new designs: the bunny and the cat! The Shiba Inu, bunny and cat mugs will be sold at Tokyu Department store in advance. They will be available for general sale from 14th June.

 

You won’t be able to stop drinking from these cute mugs so get your hands on some!

The shop opened on Asakusa’s Kappabashi Dougu Street on August 18, 2022.   At TSUCHI-YA, visitors can purchase the works of over 35 glass artisans from 13 prefectures throughout Japan, all of whom are dedicated to the art of making beautiful things. Aiming to share the beauty of glass with customers, many pieces on display are perfect for daily use. In addition to unique handmade glassware, the collection also features faceted glassware, each incorporating advanced techniques to bring traditional designs into the modern age. The techniques used to create each piece of glass are also incredibly diverse. Along with faceted glass, visitors can find sandblasted glass, which uses sand to create intricate patterns, as well as blown glass. Also keep an eye out for sustainable items such as Ryukyu glass, a traditional Okinawan craft made from recycled glass melted from used bottles, and coasters made from wood, leather and other scrap materials.The interior design for the shop was done by the creative team that also handles Tsuchiya Kaban stores. The dark tones found on the first floor make the transparent glassware shine.     Matsuzaki Shoten will hold a special collaboration event between Ginza’s Matsuzaki Senbei and Cat’s ISSUE starting on August 6, 2022. The Cat’s Festival 2022 will be an incredible event for cat lovers, and guests will be able to grab some special hand towels and bowls produced exclusively for the festival. In addition, there will be an exhibition of works by Ayako Ishiguro, a picture book artist associated with Cat's ISSUE.   Ginza's Matsuzaki Senbei x Cat's ISSUEThis Japanese-style hand towel features illustrations of unique cats based on the concept color of Matsuzaki Shoten, the main Matsuzaki Senbei shop in Ginza.   Ginza's Matsuzaki Senbei x Cat's ISSUEMatsuzaki Senbei’s flagship product has been decorated with cat illustrations, each painted by hand. During the event, customers can choose four of their favorite pieces from a total of nine different patterns and pack them in a box wrapped with beautiful paper with a special design.  Guests can also purchase these goods separately.    Collaboration with Ayako Ishiguro, a Picture Book Artist Specializing in Monster ArtThis comical cat scroll created by Ayako Ishiguro will be on display during the exhibition.   • Nagoya City Museum to Hold Special Exhibition Featuring Ukiyo-e Prints of Anthropomorphic Cats

    Have you ever wondered what it would be like if cats could talk? Anthropomorphization is when a non-human creature is depicted in a way that imitates humans.    The Moshimo Neko Exhibition, which focuses on anthropomorphic cat artworks by the ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi, will be held at the Nagoya City Museum from July 2 to August 21, 2022.

    This exhibition presents 135 works featuring humanized cats, with a focus on the fun of Edo-era anthropomorphic expression centered on the works of Utagawa Kuniyoshi. Those who love cats and ukiyo-e will be in heaven here, and these charming cats are sure to make you giggle.   From around 1841, the ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kuniyoshi released numerous works featuring anthropomorphized cats and portraying actors as cats.
