Fate/Grand Order Opening Theme ‘Phantom Joke’ to be Performed by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN

10.September.2019 | ANIME&GAME / MUSIC

UNISON SQUARE GARDEN have announced that they will release their new single Phantom Joke on October 11. The song will be used as the opening theme for the upcoming anime series Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia which will begin airing on October 5.

The single will be coupled with the songs Bokutachi no Shippai and mouth to mouse(sent you). It will be released with a first press limited edition and a regular edition. Limited edition copies include a bonus CD featuring the live audio taken from the band’s concert at Zepp Tokyo as part of their tour “UNISON SQUARE GARDEN TOUR 2019 – MODE MOOD MODE ENCORE.”

Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia is an anime adaptation of the “Babylonia” chapter taken from the Delightworks and Aniplex RPG mobile game Fate/Grand Order which has over 17 million downloads.

Speaking about the song, UNISON SQUARE GARDEN bassist Tomoya Tabuchi, who wrote and composed it, released the following statement: “I never imagined a day would come where we would be involved with the Fate franchise. The series continues to outdo itself. We have made sure to make this song sound like an adventure, one that compares favourable to the rest of the series.”

He continues: “It would have been a disservice to have gotten it wrong even by a millimetre, and as a result, we have created a song that sings to the future, one like we’ve never made before.”
