“HOSHINOYA Kyoto”, a luxury resort located in the district of Arashiyama in Kyoto, has been chosen for the “Gold List 2017” by Condé Nast Traveler, a luxury and lifestyle travel magazine, for the third year in a row.

Condé Nast Traveler’s “Gold List” is a list of the magazine’s favourite hotels in the world as selected by the editors. HOSHINOYA Kyoto has featured on the list since 2015 and is the only establishment in Kyoto to be selected.

The resort opened in December 2009 in Arashiyama, located in West Kyoto, with 25 rooms. It is situated in a valley away from the bustle of the town, and you get there via a private boat which heads upstream the Katsura River 10 minutes from the Togetsukyo Bridge. Although the building itself is 100 years old, guests can enjoy very pleasant modern rooms and enjoy a luxurious time in the gardens. The craftsmanship of the resort is to the highest quality and is met with high praise.

Whether you’re inside the resort or outside in the gardens, guests are promised a wonderful time, from the activities to the seasonal events held to allow you to experience Kyoto culture even more. The resort itself undergoes redesign in line with the four seasons. Make sure you get the opportunity to visit this fantastic location.s
