Comment from BLUE ENCOUNT

“We’re not too knowledgeable on the subject of “Ukiyo-e”, but we can see that it looks like a fun event for the people who do know about it from looking at the website. We received contact from the creators of this emotional event, one that utilises digital art, and they showed us immense support. We thought that our song “HEART” which is from our latest album “THE END” (KSCL2820) would be perfect, and they gladly allowed us to use it. Everything went so well that we cried! The commercial also looks really great, doesn’t it? It’s quite a melancholic sort of event. We definitely want to visit!”

The event will decipher the code of these Edo period ukiyo-e. You’ll be able to fully understand and appreciate the social conditions and cultural background of Edo, as well as enjoy all the fun things the creators of the event have in place for you.

Most ukiyo-e events up to now have been small scale and places where you can’t fully appreciate the Edo code, but thanks to the latest digital art technology, that will no longer be a problem at the Super Ukiyo-e exhibition, where you can fully immerse yourself in the culture of the Edo period.

This is the chance for all ukiyo-e lovers to get up and close with woodblock prints in a new way. Even if you’re not too familiar with the Edo period, you will absolutely love the artwork and will be able to experience is culture.

    DAOKO | Comment

“When I heard the final mastered version of my album ‘anima,’ I teared up. The album is intertwined with philosophical ideas, something which I often think about. It has an amazing sound. I felt beauty from my heart. The album is one which helps brings the light closer—a light which until now could only be seen from a distance—and one which illuminates the path ahead. I’m thankful from the bottom of my heart to all the musicians [involved] whom I admire and respect, and who helped me find a new DAOKO. This album saved me, and I hope it becomes a ray of light to those who hear it.”

    Akito Katayose | Comment

“Her words stir my heart, and her voice brings about a fiery pleasure to my ears. DAOKO has been special since I met her when she was 17-years-old. Her talent is endless, and it shows on this album. She feels liberated on it. It was an incredible experience to work with her […] as well as all of the wonderful musicians who followed along, including my former friend John McEntire. I hope this beautiful and curious album echoes as a source of strength to all the unstable hearts and the world.”

  • SCANDAL Premieres Remote Video Filmed at Home On YouTube For New Song ‘Living in the city’

    03.June.2020 | MUSIC

SCANDAL released their new single Living in the city digitally on June 3, 2020. It is the first ever song to be recorded by the band at home.

The song was originally written and composed by SCANDAL bassist TOMOMI during the writing of their latest album Kiss from the darkness which dropped back in February. It’s a mellow track that captures an ordinary day in Tokyo. TOMOMI commented that she feels the song will have bigger implications now during the lockdown to when the band wrote the track.

SCANDAL premiered a new remote video for Living in the city which showcases their lives at home during the lockdown.リ

SCANDAL – “Living in the city” Remote Video (Short ver.)

Tickets are also now available for SCANDAL’s upcoming livestream performance set for August 21, 2020. The livestream comes in response to the cancellation of all dates of SCANDAL WORLD TOUR 2020 “Kiss from the darkness”.

    TOMOMI | Comment

This song is about an ordinary day living in Tokyo. Tokyo is a city where it feels like if all the switches are always turned off, you’ll end up swallowed by a sense of isolation. It’s become a place where after 10 years of moving here, I want to say, “I’m home” [when I return]. A lot of the things that have made me who I am today can be found in the ordinary days spend living here. When I realised that, I found myself fallen in love with the place, and I got set to work in encasing those feelings into a song.

When I wrote this song, I never imagined we’d be releasing it at a time like this, but I feel like that now we’ve begun living a new lifestyle staying at home, this song will have different and much bigger implications to when I wrote it. It helps us rethink how much we really loved those days we took for granted.

We decided to release the song during the midst of our new stay-at-home lives, and so for the first time ever we recorded it all at our homes, and made a remote video to go with it. I hope you enjoy the song as well as seeing the band members in their homes.

  • 107 Sinnoh Region Pokémon Added to Pokémon PON Stamp Line

    03.June.2020 | ANIME&GAME

Online hanko store Hankos released a new collection of stamps in its “Pokémon PON” stamp line on May 30 which are based on 107 Pokémon from the Sinnoh region. Hanko are a type of stamp or seal traditionally used in place of signatures in Japan. They are crafted with people’s names and unique symbols.

Pokémon PON are made-to-order hanko stamps which feature a Pokémon of your choice and a name in Japanese writing. The Sinnoh region stamps follow the release of the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn region themed stamps.

The 107 designs include the Sinnoh starter Pokémon Turtwig, Piplup, and Chimchar, as well as the Legendary Pokémon Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, and Mythical Pokémon Shaymin, Darkrai, and Arceus.

When ordering your stamp you pick your favourite Pokémon and give your name to be written on it. This can be your actual name, surname, pen name, social media name and so on. Keep in mind though that there is a character limit: three Kanji, five Hiragana or Katakana, and up to six alphabet letters.

There are three different fonts and several types of hanko. One type produces ink by itself meaning you don’t have to buy an ink pad. The wooden type can also be used with most banking facilities in Japan.

Pokémon PON stamps are packaged in an exclusive Pikachu and Eevee box.
