Pre-registration for the upcoming Haikyu!! mobile game began on November 8! Haikyu!! TOUCH THE DREAM is scheduled to launch this winter, and the first trailer has been released on the title’s official Twitter page (@haikyu_haidori). 

What is Haikyu!! TOUCH THE DREAM?

Haikyu!! TOUCH THE DREAM is a fully-realized smartphone game for iOS and Android devices based on the globally-popular anime and manga series Haikyu!! Popular characters from the series appear in the title and players can form their dream volleyball team to take the top spot in the rankings!

Dr. Stone THE STAGE ~SCIENCE WORLD~, the stage play adaptation of Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi’s Dr. Stone sci-fi adventure manga, is being performed at Ikebukuro’s Sunshine Theater until July 18, 2022.

In the year 2019 AD, a mysterious flash suddenly petrifies nearly all human life. 3,700 years pass with the human race frozen in stone, until in April 5738, a 15-year-old prodigy named Senku Ishigami is suddenly revived. He soon sets up a basecamp and begins to study the petrified humans in order to determine the cause of the event, as well as a cure.

The Tokyo performance will take place until July 18. From July 21 until July 24, the stage play will be held at AiiA 2.5 Theater Kobe in Hyogo.

Those unable to see the performance in person can stream the July 9 performance until July 16!

Less than a month into our rehearsals, we’ve been powering our way through!

Japan’s National Museum of Nature and Science will hold a collaboration with the anime series Dr. Stone starting June 21! The project will include mini-exhibitions, character audio guides for permanent exhibits, commentary panels with collaborative visuals for permanent exhibitions, and collaborative goods! The event aims to convey a deeper interest in science to the younger generation. 

Mini-Exhibition

A mini-exhibition will be held to explain the world of the first two seasons of Dr. Stone from a scientific point of view. The science used by the show’s protagonist, Senku Ishigami, and his friends in the Kingdom of Science will be explained in an easy-to-understand manner through specimens and materials from the Museum’s collection of natural history and the history of science and technology.

Fossilization Exhibit – How are Living Things Petrified? 

Archaeopteryx Fossil (Replica)

For example, in connection with the scene at the beginning of the anime in which all humans are petrified by a mysterious beam of light, the process of fossilization will be explained scientifically. An Archaeopteryx fossil replica will also be on display.

Music Exhibition – How are Records Recorded and Played Back?

In connection with a scene in the anime showing the characters crafting a record player to listen to records made at the bottom of a glass bottle, a scientific explanation of how records are recorded and played back will be on show. A German-made SP record player (manual portable phonograph) will be on display to help visitors understand. 

Character Voice Guides for Permanent Exhibits

Voice actors Yusuke Kobayashi (Senku Ishigami) and Kengo Kawanishi (Gen Asagiri) will provide their character voices in special commentary on ten of the museum’s permanent exhibits. 

The voices can be played back by scanning the dedicated QR code located in the museum with your smartphone.

Explanatory Panels with Collaborative Visuals for Permanent Exhibits

Explanatory panels with collaborative visuals will be specially installed in five permanent exhibits to introduce visitors to recommended exhibits around the massive museum.

Popular jeans shop Right-On has teamed up with the anime and manga series Haikyu!! for a new collaboration. Apparel preorders are open until December 19, and select Right-On stores will begin selling the new merch on December 27, 2021.

This is the second collaboration between the two. The first round of merch was only available online and included hoodies and sweatshirts showing off popular scenes from the series.

Fans of the series can grab the same top their favorite character is rocking, making this a can’t-miss for Haikyu otaku.

Gintama is one of the best-selling manga series of all time in Japan, with over 55 copies in print. Beginning in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2003, the sci-fi comedy was filled with jokes pulled from current pop culture and news before it came to an end in 2019. Despite the story being over, Gintama is popular enough to deserve another collaboration cafe! From November 19 until December 23, the series will take over the Capcom Cafe at Q Plaza Ikebukuro! This will be the second collab with the Capcom Cafe, the first being held in February 2021 to celebrate the final Gintama film. Details on the menu and original merchandise will be released soon, so be sure to check back!

The main visual for the upcoming event features chibi sketches of popular characters from the series alongside tasty dishes, including Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi, Kagura, Hijikata, Okita, Katsura, and Takasugi.
