Jimmy Choo has announced a new collection to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the internationally beloved Sailor Moon series.

Feminine style and power are important themes in Sailor Moon, and these inspiring elements are incorporated into Jimmy Choo’s beautiful shoes and accessories. The collection will include items inspired by Sailor Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, Sailor Venus, and Luna. These superheroines created by Naoko Takeuchi are ready to take the main stage, and there’s no doubt that fans around the world will be clamoring to get their hands on these items next week.

Each pair of shoes comes in a specific color inspired by one main character, instantly recognizable to fans. This collection was inspired by the limited-edition custom-made Sailor Moon boots released last year, with a pair shown off at the Sailor Moon Museum in Roppongi. With Jimmy Choo’s signature kick heel, Sailor Moon’s iconic crescent moon jewel, and bright pink all-over crystal embellishment, the boots unite the worlds of Sailor Moon and Jimmy Choo and give off some serious feminine energy.

Items in this exclusive collection will be available to purchase worldwide on Valentine’s Day, February 14. Major Jimmy Choo flagship stores will also be decorated in Sailor Moon style, and the collection’s limited-edition packaging will shimmer in the colors of the rainbow. In addition to fashion, Jimmy Choo has also collaborated with DJ Honey Dijon to create two remix tracks inspired by Sailor Moon.

Recently, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu began starring in a series of promotional videos for the Gastropolis Kobe project. The artist traveled to the city to partake in plenty of delicious treats, and MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON went along for the ride! Here are some of the singer’s favorite spots around town.

Kobe, known as a city where East meets West, is lined with sweets shops that are unique to the area.

The tea salon TOOTH TOOTH Dekoboko Sabo opened in 2019 in the Kobe City Museum and offers a menu that mixes Western food and sweets with tea and ingredients from traditional Japanese cuisine. Kyary ordered the Dekoboko Sabo Afternoon Tea Set, a collection of western sweets blended with the essence of traditional Japanese flavors. Guests are invited to enjoy their tea and sweets in a one-of-a-kind space filled with Meiji period flare and retro Western furniture. Those interested will need to make a reservation, so be sure to remember the next time you’re in Kobe.

The next stop was Kobe Nankin-machi, one of the three major Chinatowns in Japan. Kobe MILK is known nationwide for its Apricot Pudding, which is made with local ingredients. The raw apricot pudding is mixed with milk brought from the foot of Mt. Rokko and other ingredients from Hyogo Prefecture. Of course, Kyary ordered some, and was amazed by its fluffy texture. You can only enjoy it in Kobe–also, the shop sells other puddings mixed with seasonal fruits, so don’t miss those either!

For Kyary’s final stop, the singer visited the Moore House, a cafe located in a building with over 100 years of history. Guests are surrounded by greenery, and the Western-style building is incredibly elegant. The Strawberry Mille-feuille Kyary ordered was created by an expert patissier and based on the strawberry mille-feuille recipe from the legendary French restaurant Maxim’s de Paris in Ginza. A generous amount of custard cream complements the crispy pie crust and enhances the sweetness of the fresh strawberries. We’d recommend it with a glass of champagne–if you’re of age.

The Sailor Moon franchise’s 30th-anniversary museum is open from July 1 to December 30 at Tokyo’s Roppongi Museum. The series became a global phenomenon in the 1990s and remains incredibly popular with audiences around the world to this day. The museum itself is located near Azabu-Juban, where Sailor Moon took place.

　
Volume 3 of the museum, the final installment, will take place from November 12 until the museum closes on December 30. During this period, fans can see over 100 pieces of rare Sailor Moon goods from its run in Nakayoshi magazine.

All of the original color drawings currently on display will be replaced, with over 60 new pieces being added including previously unreleased works. Fans will also get a glimpse of the original drawing that appeared on the cover of Nakayoshi when the final chapter of Sailor Moon was published!

Cake.jp, a website specializing in cakes and sweets, is installing special vending machines in AEON MALL locations! These machines are part of a collaboration with ONE PIECE FILM RED.

The collaboration vending machines will offer canned cakes inspired by Luffy, Uta, and Shanks from the popular film. Each cake tin features original designs by Cake.jp and each character’s cake has a unique flavor.

A new Anniversary Cake celebrating 30 years of Kirby is now available for purchase! Orders are open now on the Premium Bandai website.

Those who purchase the cake will be able to decorate it with the included chocolate pens and chocolate plates. The three layers of strawberry mousse, vanilla-flavored mousse, and sponge provide a super fluffy texture and sweet and sour flavor. The cake also comes with original plates featuring Kirby’s face with his mouth wide open! Orders will begin shipping in December, and you’ll want to grab your cake soon–orders will stop when the product is sold out.

Guests will be able to snag the Halloween Mont Blanc and Halloween Poison Apple cakes, available for ¥580 each including tax. The Mont Blanc is filled with pumpkin custard and Chantilly cream. The Poison Apple is a sweet and sour cake featuring a blend of chocolate mousse covered in red glaze and applesauce with apple pulp.

Fukushima Prefecture – Aizu Lacquer Music Box

Aizu lacquer ware has a history of over 400 years in the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture. Sailor Moon’s Crisis Moon Compact has been painted on glossy black lacquer, and the symbols of the ten Sailor Soldiers surround it. By opening the lid, fans will hear the show’s theme song, Moonlight Densetsu. 

Ishikawa Prefecture – Kutani ware Dishes (Set of 3)

Kutani ware, a style of Japanese porcelain, is produced in the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture. The vivid colors seen on these plates were inspired by the brightness of the Sailor Moon franchise. The set includes three plates: one inspired by the inner soldiers, one featuring both the inner and outer soldiers, and one displaying everyone’s favorite cats, Luna, Artemis, and Diana. 

Tokyo – Edo Faceted Glass

This Edo faceted glassware depicts the twinkling of the stars, each made with care by a dedicated craftsman. Two colors are available: a light crimson color with the symbols of the inner soldiers and Super Sailor Chibi Moon and a lapis lazuli color with the symbols of the outer soldiers.

Kagawa Prefecture – Wooden Kagawa Lacquerware Bowls (Set of 2)

Kagawa lacquerware is characterized by its use of colorful lacquer to create delicate and detailed patterns. This pair of bowls feature the symbols of Super Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask on bright vermilion and black backgrounds.

From the Crisis Moon Compact and the Silver Crystal to the famous Mask, these bowls are decorated with gorgeous gold and silver coloring and traditional maki-e finishing.

Fukuoka Prefecture – Hakata Woven Long Wallet

Hakata cloth is a silk fabric made by weaving a thin warp yarn and a thicker weft yarn together in a tightly-packed weave to create a stiff, ribbed appearance. This beautiful wallet features feminine colors and powerful symbols such as the legendary silver crystal and the inner soldier’s symbols, along with a golden crescent moon.

From October 1 until October 31, Yokohama Royal Park Hotel will hold a special Halloween Fair at its delicatessen and lounge Coffret.
