Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train Seen by Over 41 Million Fans Worldwide

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a 23-volume manga series by Koyoharu Gotouge that has been serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2016. An anime adaptation by ufotable aired in 2019 to worldwide critical acclaim. An animated film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, was released in Japan in October last year and covered the Infinity Train Arc of the manga series. Its success saw it entered into the Best Animated Feature Film category at the 93rd Academy Awards. A second season, Kimetsu no Yaiba – Yūkaku-hen, will premiere this year.

 

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train began rolling out in countries across Asia in October last year. Rollouts in Europe, US, Canada, South America, Central America, Africa, and Oceania have been happening throughout 2021, with the latest being in the United Kingdom on May 26. To date, it has screened in 45 countries and territories across the globe. In Japan, the Demon Slayer film has sold a total of 28.96 million tickets for 40.01 billion yen (about US$363.7 million) as of May 24. In the US, where it was released on April 23 and screened in around 1,600 theatres including 4DX and IMAX, it has sold a total of 3.51 million tickets for US$43.95 million. The box office records are only set to grow as more people head to the theatres.

 

The staff and cast of the anime series returned for this sequel film which takes Tanjiro and his companions aboard the Mugen Train to battle against their strongest enemy yet. The breathtaking animation is once again handled by ufotable, and LiSA sings the melancholic but powerful main theme Homura.

  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Turns Into Confections at Japanese Convenience Stores

    Bandai’s character-inspired Japanese confectionery series Tabemas released a new collection of traditional Japanese wagashi confections and tarts inspired by the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series at Lawson convenience stores across Japan on June 15.

     

    Tabemas Demon Slayer

    ‘Tabemas’ is an abbreviation of the Japanese words taberareru masukotto, meaning ‘mascots that you can eat.’ It is a Japanese confectionery series that combines well-known characters and Japanese sweets made from ingredients like red bean paste, sugar and rice flour.

     

    Their line-up of three confections are based on Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Zenitsu from the series, each of which captures their charm points in terms of colour and design. Tanjiro is chocolate flavoured, Nezuko is strawberry, and Zenitsu is custard.

  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Escape Game Launches in Japan

    Real-life escape game creative company SCRAP launched a new escape game on Monday in collaboration with the anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

    ‘Escape From the Demon Infested Natagumo Mountain’ is a collaboration between SCRAP’s immensely popular ‘Real Dasshutsu Game’ escape game series which has been experienced by over 8.2 million people and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, the anime series that has taken the world by storm when it aired in 2019. Its popularity surged once again with the release of the anime film Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train last year, and the hype is set to continue when the second season of the anime begins airing this year.

     

    This escape game is available to buy online at SCRAP GOODS SHOP as well as their stores. It’s an easy to use kit which only requires the use of a smartphone, PC, or tablet. Players can play with as many people as they like from the comfort of their own home.

     

    The game is inspired by the battle between Tanjiro and the Lower Rank 5 Demon Rui on Natagumo Mountain. Players form part of the Demon Slayer Corps and must use the documents provided to solve riddles in order to defeat the demons.

     

    The escape game features many characters from the series including completely new recordings by the actual voice cast for Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Tomioka, Shinobu, Kagaya, Rui, and the Kasugai Crows.

  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Holds Wisteria Event in Japan to Ward Off Demons

    Keifuku Electric Railroad launched an event on Boxing Day last year in Japan in collaboration with the TV anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The event is still taking place and is set to end on April 11.

     

    At Arashiyama Station on the Randen Line, there is a temporary area draped with wisteria flowers that commuters are encouraged to participate in as part of the collaboration. Built to ward off demons, fans of the anime series can write their own messages to be strung up on the flowers. They can write their thoughts and feelings on the characters and series as well as wishes and prayers for COVID to soon be over for all. It’s been a popular photo spot amongst passengers. And if you head from this area up to the roof, you can gaze out at the incredible view of Arashiyama.

    The hit anime film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train has been announced for a DVD and Blu-ray release in Japan on June 16, 2021. It will be sold in several editions, including an exclusive version in collaboration with the anime and manga chain Animate.

  • Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 1 French Dub Releases on Wakanim

    French streaming service Wakanim began releasing a French dub of season one of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba on March 1 to members of the site. One new episode will be released every 15 days.

     

    Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been a monumental success across the globe since it first aired, with the recent animated feature length film breaking box office records in Japan.

     

    Now, French fans will be able to experience or re-experience the first season in their native tongue.
