The new main visual and promotional video for anime ‘Let’s Make a Mug Too: Second Kiln’ has been released. The anime originally aired between April and June 2021 and season two will be starting in October, broadcasting on CBC TV, BS11, TOKYO MX, MBS and AT-X.

‘Let’s Make a Mug Too’ is a youthful story set in Tajimi City in southern Gifu prefecture, where four high school girls become absorbed in the wonders of the ceramic art of Mino ware pottery. The “Let’s make the city healthy” project in Tajimi City in 2010 brought together volunteers and companies to revitalize the area, with IT company PLANET creating the manga as a free comic in 2012. Currently 33 volumes have been published, with the series directly supporting Tajimi locals through the four-panel ‘Naoko no Kobachi’ strips.

‘Let’s Make a Mug Too: Second Kiln’ is split into two halves, with the first half of the 30 minute episode being animated and the second half live-action. During the ‘Let’s Make a Mug Too -After School-‘ live action scenes, it seems as if the characters have leapt out of the screen as voice actresses Tanaka Minami, Serizawa Yu, Wakai Yūki, and Honnizumi Rina see the sights in Gifu Prefecture’s Tajimi City.

The main visual and promotional video for the anime part have both been released, along with the unveiling of the new theme song and cast for the upcoming series.

In the main visual, Toyokawa Himeno holds a large plate in both hands in front of the club room while surrounded by maple leaves. Kukuri Mika is holding a figurine next to mascot character Mad Demon and Naruse Naoko is grinning at her “muscle” mug while ceramic art department director Aoki Toko is watching over the group with a smile. The beautiful visual also features the two new characters – a sneaky looking Rio Matsuse and curious looking Jimena Valdez.
