D4DJ Project DJ unit Photon Maiden released their third single ‘4 Challenges’ on October 13 2021.

Photon Maiden is an upcoming unit formed of talented girls from across Japan through a national audition. The DJ-themed mix-media project was started by Bushiroad, with ‘D4DJ First Mix’ anime director Mizushima Seiji in charge of music production.

The title track ‘4 Challenges’ has a slow build which transports the listener into Photon Maiden’s world. Pay close attention to the contrast between the bridge and chorus, which takes you from floating across gentle waves into the hard bass chorus.

The coupling song ‘Hikari’ has a nostalgic melody, with beautiful singing voices to match the sound, which grows from a relaxed beat into a surging drop.

The Limited Edition Blu-ray includes the mini anime ‘Pucchimix♪ D4DJ Petit Mix’ Episodes 10 to 13 and a live music video of the title track, taken from  ‘D4DJ D4 FES. -Be Happy- REMIX Live Footage -Photon Maiden-.’
