JO1 Exhibition in Gallery AaMo Announced, Tickets on Sale

Japanese boy band JO1, formed through the reality competition show Produce 101, will be holding their largest-ever exhibition starting Christmas Day! The group is celebrating its second anniversary with the release of their fifth single WANDERING on December 15, and with the ‘JO1 Exhibition in Gallery AaMo’ in Tokyo Dome City for an entire month. 

 

The eleven members of the group were selected from around 6,000 applicants in December 2019. They include Issei Mamehara, Junki Kono, Keigo Sato, Ren Kawashiri, Ruki Shiroiwa, Shion Tsurubo, Sho Yonashiro, Shosei Ohira, Sukai Kinjo, Shoya Kimata, and Takumi Kawanishi. 

 

The work featured in the exhibition will be unique and new, called ‘artistic JO1’ by the members. Videos and rare images of the group will be displayed throughout the space, and the ticket lottery has already begun!     Japanese boy band JO1 is celebrating two years with the release of their 5th single Wandering on December 15, 2021. The group is also getting their biggest exhibition yet, being held at Tokyo Dome City Gallery AaMo from December 25, 2021, until January 25, 2021! The key visual for the event has just been released and shows the theme for the exhibition. With a puzzle motif, the theme is ‘Unfinished,’ expressing that the boys are still working hard to become the best performers they can be. 

     

     

    The eleven members of the group were chosen from 6,000 applicants during 2019’s PRODUCE 101 JAPAN program. The members include Issei Mamehara, Junki Kono, Keigo Sato, Ren Kawashiri, Ruki Shiroiwa, Shion Tsurubo, Sho Yonashiro, Shosei Ohira, Sukai Kinjo, Shoya Kimata, and Takumi Kawanishi. 

     

    Never-before-seen images and videos will be shown at the event, and more images are scheduled to be released towards the end of November. General ticket sales start on November 5.

    The pixiv WAEN GALLERY in Shibuya will hold an exhibition by popular artist Hiten from October 22 until November 10, 2021.

    The exhibition, titled ‘Claire,’ will be the artist’s first-ever solo showing. Photo frame shaped photo-spots will be spread across five locations throughout Tokyo Dome City, full of gimmicks to offer amazing photo opportunities! In addition to the beautiful lights, there will be exciting and playful light displays to encourage visitors to take photos and have fun at the same time.

  • SNEAKERWOLF Edo-Inspired Exhibition to Open in Shibuya and Harajuku

    From October 23 until October 29, art project production group WATOWA GALLERY will host a solo exhibition by SNEAKERWOLF at elephant STUDIO in Shibuya. The artist has become popular both in Japan and abroad for his works inspired by calligraphy found in the Edo period of Japanese history. 

     

    SNEAKERWOLF has garnered worldwide attention for his graffiti-style artwork depicting Edo-inspired kanji characters. In the past, he has collaborated with ASICS Tiger Japan and other popular brands. The artist will show around 15 new abstract works during this exhibition, many inspired by SD–or ‘super deformed’–versions of characters. The #FR2 x SNEAKERWOLF collaborative exhibition will be happening simultaneously in Harajuku, bringing the artist together with fashion brand #FR2. The brand and artist were brought together during an exhibition sponsored by WATOWA GALLERY in January 2021. During this period, three new pieces made specifically for #FR2 will be on display, and limited-edition clothing will be available for purchase!

     



  • Hololive Third Generation Members to Hold First Live Event at Tokyo Dome City Hall

    The third-generation members of the globally popular VTuber group Hololive will hold their first-ever live event on November 25, 2021, at Tokyo Dome City Hall. Members Usada Pekora, Houshou Marine, Shiranui Flare, Shirogane Noel, and Uruha Rushia will take to the stage at the show, titled Fan Fun Island!

  • Japanese Boy Band JO1 Photo Exhibition Announced For Shibuya and Fukuoka

    Japanese boy band JO1 released their first photo book Progress on January 27 this year. Fans who were unable to get a copy, or those who just want more JO1, will be excited to hear that a photo exhibition will take place at Shibuya PARCO from March 19 to 29 and Fukuoka PARCO from March 19 to April 4.

    The exhibition will feature not only photos that are included in the photo book, but exclusive, never-before-seen ones too. A collection of merchandise will also be available for fans to buy, and all who attend the exhibition will receive a free solo photo of one of the members.

  • Described as the “most interesting sweets shop in the world”, PAPABUBBLE sells a range of cute and fun confections. On July 1, PAPABUBBLE will open a Candy Art Museum on basement floor 2 of GINZA SIX.

     

    PAPABUBBLE has set up shop in over 30 cities worldwide. The main shop will contain art pieces made from candy. Considering all the candy shops that are currently out there in the world, nobody has ever seen anything quite like this before. 

    The museum contains around 20 different ornaments that are edible sweets. Visitors who wish to purchase the ornaments can do so. Besides the standard sweets, the display items and range of sweets for sale will be changed every day. 

     

    When the museum opens in July, visitors will be able to enjoy the wonderful texture and flavour of candy lampshades, enjoy the artistic and charming glow of candy mushrooms, and gaze in bewilderment at an antique vase baumkuchen cake. 

    To commemorate its grand opening, customers who spend more than ¥5,000 (after tax) on display items or on the sweets shop range will receive either a soft gummy brain or soft gummy dentures. This campaign will be running throughout July. 

    Along with the grand opening of the art museum, there will also be Ginza-limited products on sale that are completely unique to the Ginza branch. The lineup includes sweets made from ingredients that are rarely seen in Japan. This includes colourful and fruity chocolate such as rocky roads and soft candy sweets made from snow sugar. PAPABUBBLE will also sell souvenirs that represent Ginza such as Kirihako boxes which are beautiful boxes made from wood. 

     

    If you are in Tokyo, you just cannot miss this museum that is overflowing with originality.
