“EGOIST”, the fictional artist band produced by Ryo (Supercell), opened their tour finale for “EGOIST” Greeting Tour 2017 (E/A) on Friday 18th August at Zepp Nagoya. The finale featured special guest GARNiDELiA, who took to the stage for their number “Désir”, which is the ending theme song of the TV anime “Fate/Apocrypha”. The tour included a collaboration performance of EGOIST’s best number “The Everlasting Guilty Crown” and much more – what a special way to mark the end of the tour!
The “EGOIST Greeting Tour 2017 E/A” included their new song “Eiyuu Unmei no Uta”, which was released for sale on Wednesday 16th August. This was performed at 7 lives in a total of 6 cities – Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. A grand 10,000 people attended the tour. The venue quickly swelled up with the excitement of fans who overflowed the venue, especially at the grand finale held in Nagoya.
The venue suddenly blacked out, and as the sound of the intro to “Namae no nai Kaibutsu” resonated through the venue, the crowd began to cheer with excitement. The venue was heated up with “KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS”, leaving the vocalists out of breath from the start. EGOIST drew the audience into their world with their third song “Door”. The toned-down nature of this song did not fail to capture the audience.
The singers then took their first break to welcome the audience with a big smile. This live marked the first ever live broadcast of EGOIST, so the performers greeted not just the fans in the venue, but also viewers watching the broadcast. After talking about the current popular TV anime “Fate/Apocrypha”, they performed the opening theme song “Eiyuu Unmei no Uta”. During this song, vocalist INORI dressed in the same armour and headwear as Ruler from the series. Her magnificent grand voice swallowed the fans.
The performance continued with “Fallen”, “Welcome to the *fam” and “Reloaded”. These upbeat songs electrified the audience with enthusiasm. After hitting the climax, the second half of the live was toned down, where Chelly’s vocals shone through mid-tempo ballads. After the three songs “Ghost of a smile”, “All Alone With You”, and “Eien”, it was time for the final song; “Departures 〜 Anata ni Okuru Ai no Uta”. Many fans could not hold back their tears.
In response to the audience screaming for an encore, Chelly reappeared on stage, calling special guest GARNiDELiA back to the stage. For the whole tour, EGOIST covered different songs in the “Fate” TV anime series for each venue. For the tour finale held in Nagoya, GARNiDELiA, who was in charge of the ending theme song of “Fate/Apocrypha”, was called forward to finish the special live with the ending song “Désir”.
GARNiDELiA’s stunning performance was met with a large applause. However, EGOIST and GARNiDELiA had a surprise up their sleeve. Upon announcing their collaboration song, Chelly signalled the start of the song with “So, please listen!” The intro for one of EGOIST’s best numbers “The Everlasting Guilty Crown” reverberated through the venue, triggering cheers and screams from the audience that shook the whole building.
The unimaginable, special collaboration of this famous song lifted the day, leaving fans tingling with excitement. Amongst the roaring crowd, GARNiDELiA stood on the stage, presenting “Kimi Sora Kiseki” – an ultimate fan favourite. With that, the live came to a close.
No other venue gave such an applause as this one. Although the live finished at this location, the applause rang for such a long time that Chelly made another appearance on stage. The performers also announced their special single coupling track for “Eiyuu Unmei no Uta”, which includes a version with English lyrics called “Eiyu Fate’s Song”. The applause roared even more in response to their surprise entrance on stage. It was great to know that the “EGOIST Greeting Tour 2017 (E /A)” ended on such a high note.
