HOSHINOYA Kyoto will offer a tour called “Koyo (autumn colors) Heli Cruise”

05.September.2017 | SPOT

“HOSHINOYA Kyoto” will offer a tour called “Koyo Heli Cruise” where one can ride a helicopter and view Kyoto and its world heritages from the sky. One group per day can participate in this tour and it will be held from the 20th of November until the 5th of December, 2017.

From a height of 500m one can enjoy the view of Kyoto’s world heritages.

Every year, 56 million people visit Kyoto home to many shrines, temples and sightseeing spots. Approximately 12 million people visit Kyoto during the  autumn and therefore, transit and sightseeing spots are packed with tourists at this time of the year. To solve this problem, HOSHINOYA Kyoto is planning this tour so that tourists can enjoy the view of historical sites and beautiful views of Kyoto in autumn without having to worry about the crowds.

The tour will be offered only to customers who stay at one of HOSHINOYA Kyoto’s facilities. The tourists who participate this tour can enjoy the view of the trees colored red and orange and the world heritage sites while riding a helicopter. After the helicopter elevates up to 1500 feet (about 500m), one can enjoy the historical buildings of Kyoto such as Kiyomizudera, Kinkakuji and Nijojo and the fall colors of Arashiyama.

Sixteen temples and shrines and one castle in Kyoto, Uji and Otsu were enrolled as the “world heritages of historical city Kyoto” in 1994. The “Koyo Heli Cruise” will guide the customers around Kyoto’s world heritages and sightseeing spots within 25 minutes centering around the helicopter port located in Fushimi which is 45 minutes away (by car) from HOSHINOYA Kyoto. The tour route can be decided by discussing with the driver of the helicopter. In addition, the helicopter port has a bar counter and sofas and offers champagne to the users of HOSHINOYA Kyoto. After the helicopter tour, tourists can enjoy conversing about their tour while drinking champagne.

After the helicopter cruise, one can enjoy “Momiji Chakai” which is held in a garden that has a 400-year old maple tree.

In “Oku no Niwa” of HOSHINOYA Kyoto, a chakai (tea party) is held under the 400 year-old maple tree. The premises of HOSHINOYA Kyoto was a second house of Ryoi Suminokura, a wealthy merchant who lived in the Sengoku Era until the Edo Era. The red leaves of this maple tree are so beautiful and the garden is filled with tiles, not sand or small stones. Because one can walk on top of the tiles, it is possible to take a close look at the tree. Moreover, one can sit down on a sofas or legless chairs and enjoy the garden or trees of Arashiyama while drinking maccha (green tea).

Why not spend a splendid time at “HOSHINOYA Kyoto” and enjoy autumn in Kyoto.
