TEMPURA KIDZ Members Announce Departure From Group After Their Concert in March

Four-member dance and vocal unit TEMPURA KIDZ announced on their official website on Thursday (February 18) that YU-KA, AO, and P→★ will depart from the group following their concert at Shibuya Veats on March 28, 2021.
TEMPURA KIDZ began their career as backup dancers for Japan’s queen of pop Kyary Pamyu Pamyu where they were known as the “Kyary Kids.” The original five-member line-up of YU-KA, AO, P→★, KARIN, and NaNaHo made their major debut in 2013. At the young ages of just 15, the group took their unmatched, high-energy dance performances across Japan and overseas. The big stage was ahead of them as they embarked on a world tour to perform in 17 cities throughout 13 countries, beginning with a performance at the Thai music festival TOFU MUSIC FES 2014 where they performed alongside the acclaimed K-pop artists 2NE1 and GOT7.

TEMPURA KIDZ also performed at the world’s largest indoor arena, Philippine Arena, in Manila, Philippines for the 2015 New Year’s countdown event. In the performer line-up, TEMPURA KIDZ were just one act behind Chris Brown.

TEMPURA KIDZ have taken their exceptional dance skills around the world where they have hosted dance workshops to children at schools. One was hosted in Payatas in the Philippines as part of an Official Development Assistance (ODA) effort and was filmed to be shown on TV.
Over the course of their career, TEMPURA KIDZ have also lent their creative choreography to countless artists as well as for commercials and TV shows. In 2019, they performed their iconic “Puputto Fumutto Kaiketsu Dance” on Kōhaku Uta Gassen, an annual New Year’s Eve television special in Japan. The dance was created by the group for the animation series Butt Detective.
In 2018, group member NaNaHo graduated for the group, leaving TEMPURA KIDZ with just four members: YU-KA , AO, P→★, and KARIN. However, YU-KA , AO, and P→★ will now be graduating from the group at their solo concert together at Shibuya Veats on March 28, 2021 to focus on their own individual careers.
YU-KA aims to become a performer on many different levels and so wants to focus on enhancing her current skill. AO wants to become an actress, and P→★ wants to challenge himself to many new things such as being a DJ, model, and performer to arm himself with a talented skill set. The remaining member KARIN will announce her plans in the near future.
This March will be the final time that the four members stand on stage together as TEMPURA KIDZ. Tickets went on sale on Thursday (February 18), including special tickets that include signings from the members and an invitation to their rehearsal.

Shibuya PARCO Reveals Fashion Campaign Key Visual For Spring 2021

Shibuya PARCO has unveiled its key visual for its Spring 2021 fashion campaign “SHIBUYA PARCO S/S NEW LOOK” which features Japanese model Lala Takahashi.

In the visual, Lala Takahashi is donning the ‘Pablo’ series by UNDERCOVER which is inspired by Picasso’s ‘Blue Period.’ It’s been transferred onto a print of an abstract oil painting by Jun Takahashi. The photo was taken by visual artist Takako Noel, while the conceptual headpiece, which is made from recycled plastic, was created by hair stylist Haruka Tazaki.
The campaign brings with it a wave of new fashion and cosmetic items from stores inside Shibuya PARCO. A special coupon that can be used on the PARCO online store from February 9 to 28 is also available. It comes in response to stay-at-home measures raised in Japan due to the pandemic.

Kingdom Anime Collaborates With Firsthand On Exclusive Merchandise
Creative and sustainable concept store Firsthand released a collection of items in collaboration on Wednesday (January 20) with the TV anime series Kingdom, which is set to begin airing its third season this April, and Japanese artist Kosuke Kawamura. The items are available to buy both online in Japan and at a pop-up store at OPEN STUDIO inside FREAK’S STORE Shibuya.
Firsthand is a Japanese brand centred on upcycling and sustainable production. Fans of the ongoing anime series can get their hands on a range of clothing items, phone cases, and more. If they head to OPEN STUDIO they’ll also find an illustration exhibit, a photo spot, and more. The gallery is also selling posters signed by Kosuke Kawamura.

Tokyo Welcomes New KISS,TOKYO Bench at Shibuya River Street

What is being dubbed as a new sightseeing spot in Shibuya, “KISS,TOKYO,” an artistic bench, appeared at Shibuya River Street on Christmas Day. The street runs from SHIBUYA STREAM towards Daikanyama.
“KISS,TOKYO” is a project and nod towards those who love Tokyo, taking inspiration from the “I♡NY” slogan and logo. Japan isn’t a country where kisses are used as greetings like other places around the world, but the bold notion of “KISS,TOKYO” expresses the feeling of love wards the people and city. It’s a mark to welcome visitors to the capital of Japan.
The bench was made in cooperation with the Shibuya City Tourism Association and Tokyu and under a crowdfunder.
A pop-up shop is now open at WIRED SHIBUYA selling merchandise with the KISS,TOKYO logo on it. It will run until January 31, 2021.

Asobi Factory no Asobiba is a new shop set to open on the 6th floor of Shibuya Marui on January 2, 2021 where visitors can get hands-on and immersed in puzzle-solving games.
Asobi Factory is a puzzles and goods brand that first began its journey into the puzzle industry in 2011. Since then, it has hosted many interactive puzzle events based on anime series, games, television shows, and more. Its new Asobiba shop will collaborate exclusively with anime and games, offering puzzle experiences as well as selling puzzle goods and merchandise in collaboration with anime series.
Visitors can walk around the shop to enjoy experiencing different puzzle content. And these puzzles aren’t bound to the shop – they will take visitors around the building and outside on the streets too. Puzzles can last anywhere from 1-3 hours, making for a fun day trip.
My Hero Academia features as the first collaboration
The popular anime series My Hero Academia hails as the first collaboration. The story begins at a hero office where word of an explosion reaches. You take the role of a pro hero take the call to figure out this mystery and head straight to the scene of the crime only to find mysteriously that the first reported explosion goes off in the instant you arrive. Gucci’s Shibuya Store Collaborates With Cassette Tape Shop waltz
To celebrate one year since opening, the Shibuya PARCO branch of Gucci in Tokyo is collaborating with the Nakameguro-based cassette tape shop waltz from November 20 to December 6.
waltz is a vintage-style boutique with shelves lined with old music and VHS tapes, cassette players, books, vinyl records, fashion and design magazines, stereo equipment, and more. Self-described as the “ultimate destination for retro multi media,” the shop is a real nostalgia trip nostalgia, and is one of 13 Gucci Places alongside places like Chatsworth House in the UK and LACMA in Los Angeles.
Gucci Shibuya PARCO features its own booth where people can listen to old cassette tapes from waltz’s Secret Room. The song selection includes tracks from the 1970’s, which Gucci’s Epilogue collection is inspired by, a playlist created by Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele, and more.
