Meiji’s popular “Super Cup Strawberry Shortcake” from last year is about to become a regular item on shelves!
The “Meiji Essel Super Cup Sweet’s Strawberry Shortcake” was released last year to overwhelming popularity. It has been announced that the previously limited-edition item will join the rest of the regular products and be released again on October 16th.
The strawberry shortcake ice cream has 4 layers: cookie is stuffed between custard flavoured ice cream and whipped cream style ice cream, all of which is topped with a sweet strawberry sauce that contains pieces of real strawberry. Not only does Meiji’s ambrosial delight taste like the real thing, it looks just like a strawberry shortcake too.
By using plentiful fresh strawberry sauce, it creates an exquisite sweet and sourness that only elevates the texture of the cookie. Each layer of the shortcake mixes together in your mouth and envelopes your taste buds right to the very end.
For those people who were unable to try it when it came out – well, it’s about to become a regular addition on the shelves, so now there’s no excuse to miss out on the rich flavour of one of Meiji’s popular treats.

Guests are invited to enjoy their tea and sweets in a one-of-a-kind space filled with Meiji period flare and retro Western furniture. Rokko and other ingredients from Hyogo Prefecture. Of course, Kyary ordered some, and was amazed by its fluffy texture. You can only enjoy it in Kobe–also, the shop sells other puddings mixed with seasonal fruits, so don’t miss those either! Starting October 10, the popular ice cream sandwich Biscuit Sandwich will begin a collaboration with the popular anime and manga series Spy x Family. The second season began on October 1. The collaboration will introduce limited-edition packaging in three styles featuring close-ups of the three main characters–Loid, Yor, and Anya. Two of the designs were newly drawn for this collaboration.
While the main characters are featured on the front, the back shows Franky, Becky, and Henry Henderson. Customers will also want to search for a hidden Anya somewhere on the packaging. Along with this special packaging, three different campaigns will be underway featuring an original QUO card, a USB featuring original voice recordings, and a cooler bag shaped like the penguin that appears in the series. For those snagging the USB, you’ll be able to hear Anya begging for ice cream and some other cute lines.
