Instagram worthy 6-coloured cheese fondue available at prison themed restaurant “The Lockup”

12.November.2017 | FOOD

All six branches of The Lockup, a prison themed restaurant in Japan, are holding an event titled Shujin Thanks Festival from November 1st to December 7th to celebrate the unveiling of their new logo. As part of the celebration, customers will be able to get their hands on the restaurant’s 6-coloured “Crazy Monster Cheese Fondue,” normally priced at ¥5,800, at the special price of ¥2,900. The first 1,000 people to arrive at each branch will also receive a sticker with the new logo on it.

The Lockup is a unique prison themed restaurant that serves up an unforgettable menu of fun goodies, from colourful drinks served in test tubes and beakers to food that takes on the form of a monster and cocktails with eyeballs floating in them – everything worthy of being the next post on your Instagram. Upon entering, you must first head through a number of different styled rooms before arriving at the restaurant’s entrance. Before you can even get a word in, you are accused of a crime by the police staff working there, put in handcuffs, and led down a dark corridor. You will be taken to your own prison cell encased in iron bars and it is here you will eat your meal.

You will spend your time as a prisoner in your cell until you finish your meal. During this time, the prison warden, police, hall staff and monsters promise to give you a wonderfully frightening experience.

You too can be a prisoner at the Shujin Thanks Festival to celebrate their new logo which was released on October 13th.

There are 6 different coloured cheeses to choose from when you buy the “Crazy Monster Cheese Fondue.” For just ¥2,900 (that’s 50% off the original price!) it comes with 8 food items in total and 2 hours of all-you-can-drink. You can also get a photo with the monsters and look forward to seeing the “eyeball monster show.”

So what are you waiting for? You’re going to have to hand yourself over to the police already if you want a taste of this delicious cheese fondue.
