‘Otaku House’ Guest House to Open for Foreign Akihabara Tourists

08.July.2018 | ANIME&GAME / SPOT

Otaku House is an exciting new project opening for foreign tourists in Japan interested in anime, manga, games and cosplay.

Taking the form of a guest house, the establishment is aiming to open in Spring 2019 in the holy land of anime and games, Akihabara. They are seeking support through crowdfunding which will begin at the end of this month.

The project is being carried out by SouthWorks, a company who distributes Japanese games overseas. This will be the first guest house in Japan aimed at foreign tourists. Their website officially opened on July 3. With Otaku House, they hope to offer foreigners a space to enjoy what Japan has to offer in terms of otaku culture.

On their website you can see the kind of facilities they have to offer, and they’re even taking requests for ideas on what people would like to see there to improve the site.

Their crowdfunding page will open on Kickstarter at the end of July. Prospective crowdfunders can look forward to a range of different awards, including an Overnight Stay Ticket, Daytime Experience Ticket and more. Further details about the crowdfunding will be made available on the official OTAKU HOUSE Facebook page.

It’s time to embrace your inner otaku. Be sure to support Otaku House!
