Kyoto Tower Haunted House Set to Terrify & Entertain

24.July.2018 | SPOT

Kyoto Tower is bringing it’s very own obakeyashiki, or Japanese-style haunted house, for visitors from July 28 to September 2.

The haunted house was brought to Kyoto Tower last year and saw close to 16,000 people attend over its 34-day period. Things are changing this year however, with the event set to both evoke scares and laughter from people. There will be a mission that must be completed by those up for the challenge which can be enjoyed with families with small children, friends, couples, or those simply travelling around the Kansai region.

There will also be tickets available that includes not only the haunted house experience, but access to the tower’s 100 meter observatory deck to witness the gorgeous view.

There are three tasks involved with the haunted house.

1. Receive a bell from the reception that wards off evil spirits before entering.

2. In the final shrine area, place your bell into the box in front of the shrine.

3. Stay away from the monsters and safely exit the haunted house. Or so you think…

Can you complete all three of these tasks? Head to Kyoto Tower this summer to find out.
