An AKIRA collage is being set up around a reconstructed building at Shibuya PARCO. The art wall will also be available to purchase in the form of a giant B0-size calendar at GALLERY X BY PARCO in Shibuya to celebrate the coming year of 2019 – the same year in which AKIRA is set.
AKIRA is a manga series written and illustrated by Katsuhiro Otomo that was serialised in Weekly Young Magazine from 1982 to 1990. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo and tells the story of the coming creature known as AKIRA which is both feared and prized for its potential to shake the recovering world.
The calendar will be available limited viewing on October 8 at GALLERY X BY PARCO in Shibuya and be available for purchase at Hypefest in Brooklyn, New York which is running on October 6 and 7.
Those who purchase the calendar in Tokyo will receive a pin badge and those who buy it in New York will get stickers. Don’t miss out on this very special event to get your hands on a very rare calendar!
