Bandai’s Traditional Japanese confectionery “Tabemasu”or “edible mascot” line of products has a new addition to the series, basing it around one of Japan’s most popular characters “Doraemon”. The new series is called “Tabemasu Doraemon”. This new confectionery series can be purchased in the confectionery department of AEON malls nationwide (excluding Okinawa). The sales of “Tabemasu Rilakkuma”, another series from “Tabemasu” was launched on Tuesday 26th April 2016 at Lawson convenience stores nationwide (Excluding Okinawa).
“Tabemasu Doraemon” comes in two varieties including “Doraemon Custard sweet bean paste filling”and “Doraemon’s secret tool Mini Doraemon (Milk flavoured). Both Doraemon and Mini Doraemon are approximately 40mm long and the details of the bells around their necks and the designs of the 4D pocket are elaborate, adding to the cuteness of the design!
The two sweet bean paste flavoured Doraemon taste like custard and milk respectively. The mild taste of these Japanese confectionery goods is what makes them truly charming!
“Tabemasu Rilakkuma” includes two Rilakkuma each of two different flavours — Rilakkuma Custard Pudding flavor and Ko-Rilakkuma Milk flavor! Being cute and round, these irresistible Rilakkuma make for the perfect treat. Gaze into their round pupils and you will see for yourself! These Japanese traditional confectionery goods also have a gentle western style flavour, which is why they are worth a try!

The film Doraemon: Nobita’s Sky Utopia will be released on March 3, 2023. The 42nd Doraemon movie follows Doraemon, Nobita, and his friends as they venture off to find Utopia, a perfect land in the sky where everyone lines in joy and happiness. They do so using an airship with a time warp function on their adventure, and to commemorate the film’s release, the Flying Doraemon Project began on January 14. A real-life 17-meter-long Doraemon blimp will soon appear in the sky, and fans are being asked to decide on a name for the craft. The blimp, inspired by the Doraemon movie, will feature popular characters including Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, and Gian. The blimp is the largest unmanned airship in Japan.
The message of the Flying Doraemon Project is to convey the feeling that in this day and age, children and adults alike can once again look upward and move forward toward their hopes and dreams.
Fans are asked to contribute ideas for the blimps name during the application period. Check the website for more details!

Shogakukan’s online store has released a long-sleeve shirt inspired by Nobita’s room from the long-running Doraemon series. Released on December 15, the fashionable and fun item is sure to be a fan favorite.

The shirt was developed in collaboration with Kawatani Shirt, a Tokyo-based brand dating back to 2011 specializing in casual shirts for adults. The green stripes were inspired by the tatami mats found in Nobita’s room, and the simple back is white with a slight checker pattern at the top. Part of the inner lining is even decorated with Doraemon’s Take-copter! The button at the neck is bright yellow, inspired by Doraemon’s signature bell. The Keio Plaza Hotel in Tokyo is celebrating Rilakkuma’s birthday in the sweetest way! The Strawberry Collection with Rilakkuma sweets buffet will be available from January 7 until March 31, 2023 at All-Day Dining Jurin on the hotel’s second floor. The most popular strawberry buffet will be back and better than ever in 2023. Sweets featuring Rilakkuma and his friends will be on full display, including strawberry tarts, tiramisu, and other strawberry-filled sweets. The lazy bear’s favorite pudding and pancakes will also be available along with soothing hot tea for the cold winter months. This will mark the first time that Rilakkuma’s sweets buffet will appear at a hotel.
Small tartlets featuring Korilakkuma and Kiiroitori will be too cute to eat, and Chairoikoguma will appear on cookie sandwiches.
