Funny Bone Cast Unveiled For Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight Live-Action Adaptation

It has been announced that Rin Mikimoto’s shoujo manga series Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight will receive a live-action film adaptation which will be released in Japan this December. The popular manga series is serialised in Bessatsu Friend and has shipped over 2.6 million copies. The manga is also being published in English by Kodansha Comics with the ninth volume set for release on August 29, 2019.

 

GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE vocalist Ryota Katayose will play the part of Kaeda Ayasa, a performer and national star, while Kanna Hashimoto will play Hinana, an ordinary high school girl. Hashimoto is an actress hugely popular with teenage girls in Japan. Gordon Chiba will take the role of Akira Hamabe, Hinana’s childhood friend who watches over her closely. Hamabe is the son of Sonny Chiba―a famous Japanese actor and martial artist―and has received overwhelming attention since his acting debut.

The cast for Funny Bone has also been announced, a popular dance and vocal group that appears in the manga series.

 

Katsuhiro Suzuki will play the part of Mitsuki Nakajō, the group leader who is in conflict with the super-hot celebrity Kaede. Suzuki is known for his role as Hiromu Sakurada/Red Buster in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters (2012) as well as other hit films such as Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High (2017) and Fly Me To The Saitama (2019).

 

Rihito Noda will take on the role of Ayami Morikawa, a cool and taciturn individual who in fact cares about Kaede more than anyone. Noda is a regular on the live-action drama series adaptation of Parfait Tic! and also appears in the ongoing tokusatsu drama Kamen Rider Zi-O.

 

Takuma Usa will play the part of Yuuta Arimura, the “cute guy” of the group. Usa is a standout on the AbemaTV romance reality show Ookami-kun ni wa Damasarenai.

 

Finally, Shūichirō Naitō will play Naoto Kiritani, the tallest of the group. Naitō also appears alongside Usa on Ookami-kun ni wa Damasarenai. He also appears in the drama Fujoshi, Ukkari Gei ni Kokuru which aired its last episode recently.
