Tokyo’s Pokémon Café Adds Eevee Frappe to the Menu

The Pokémon Café in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, is adding an apple flavoured Eevee frappe to its ever-growing Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Café menu. The frappe will be available from October 2 to December 4.

The sweet tang of the apple combines with the caramel to create a tasty dessert drink, topped with whipped cream, crunchy piece bits, and a cute Eevee tail cookie.

    Tokyo’s Hotel New Otani has announced a new single-person plan in collaboration with Sanrio’s popular Kogimyun character, and will offer a limited number of two rooms per day from January 4 until May 31, 2022.

     

    Cogimyun is the female version of Cogimyon, and placed 10th in the 2021 Sanrio Character Awards. Her fluffy and fragile appearance has made her a hit with Sanrio fans.

     

    The room is completely decorated in Cogimyun style, and guests can take home five pieces of original merchandise made for this collaboration. 

     

    From the moment guests enter the room, they will be completely surrounded by all things Cogimyun! Pastel colors and special Cogimyun illustrations line the space, with many drawn exclusively for the collaboration.

     

    Guets can also download a special app that will allow them to hear Cogimyun welcoming them to the room. They will also be able to take pictures with the character using AR technology.

  • Pokemon Diamond and Pearl Anime Ending Theme Medley Gets Special Animation

    Project Pocchama, a limited-time project to support the adorable water Pokemon Piplup, has revealed a new music video on the official Pokemon YouTube channel!

    The music video is an ending theme medley of the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl anime series which aired on TV Tokyo from 2006 until 2010.

     


    The video was created to make people happy during these difficult times. As Hikari, a character in the anime series who travels with Piplup, always says, “everything will be okay!”

     

    The medley includes an arrangement of four songs: Kimi no Soba de ~Hikari’s Theme~, Ashita wa Kitto, Kimi no Mune ni LaLaLa, and Kaze no Message. How could anyone not be happy after watching this peppy video?

    The limited-time-only afternoon tea will feature a variety of adorable sweets that look like they popped out of a picture book, from Berry and Pistachio Bunny Ears Mousse to the Queen’s Chandelier Butter Sandwich Cookies decorated like playing cards. Each sweet makes use of seasonal ingredients like strawberries, perfect with chocolate dips, petite tarts, and macaroons.

  • Limited Time Atami Plum Cafe Opens at Risonare Atami Resort

    Hoshino Resort Risonare Atami will open the Atami Plum Cafe from January 6 until March 11, 2022. Guests can experience the early arrival of spring beneath the plum blossoms, and at the cafe space on the top floor of the hotel, visitors can feast on a number of plum-inspired dishes. 

    The Atami Plum Garden, located near the resort, is one of the most famous places in Japan to see plum blossoms early. The first blossoms usually open up in late November or early December, and this event will get people excited about welcoming the warmer spring months.

     

    A false plum tree will welcome visitors to the cafe, and the ceiling will also be covered in lavender blossoms. The tables, chairs, and garlands are all themed to welcome spring, and the terrace will feature a plum-shaped kotatsu. Guests sitting beneath it can stay warm while gazing out at the vast ocean.

     

    The Plum Gelato Plate features three varieties made with plum pulp, jam, and paste. Why not give it a try?

  • Pokemon ‘Brilliant Shining Festival’ Pop-Up Shop Opens at Shibuya PARCO

    On November 19, 2021, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl were released for the Nintendo Switch. Remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl titles, fans have been loving the new graphical and quality-of-life improvements. To commemorate their release, Shibuya PARCO will open a ‘Brilliant Shining Festival’ pop-up shop where children and adults alike can come together to snag some neat new merchandise inspired by both games.

     

    The pop-up shop will be located in the COMINGSOON event space on the first floor of Shibuya PARCO from January 2 until January 12, 2022. The interior will be completely decorated in Pokemon style, and original snacks will also be available for purchase. (Snacks will also be available for purchase from the PARCO Online Store).

     

    Along with buying some cute merch, a special password and sticker campaign will be held during the duration of the event. Just say some special words to the shop’s employees, get a sticker exchange ticket, and use it at the pop-up store. The password is ‘Brilliant Shining Festival!’

  • Peter Pan and Wendy-Inspired Sweets Buffet Comes to Nagoya

    The Strings Hotel Yagoto NAGOYA in Aichi Prefecture is holding the ‘Strawberry Neverland – Tinkerbell in Love Sweets Buffet’ at it’s sweets restaurant SCALA Terrace from January 15 until March 31, 2022. These limited-time desserts will use seasonal strawberries and pistachios.

     

     

    Inspired by Peter Pan, the space will feature cute and refreshing sweets that will make guests think of the adorable fairy Tinkerbell. The ‘Tinkerbell in Love – Raspberry Lime Mousse’ is covered in the character’s fairy dust, and is highly recommended by the restaurants chef patissier. A total of 16 desserts will be available, with some featuring edible flowers and other fantasy-inspired decorations. Those wanting something a little heavier can enjoy slow-cooked Indian Curry and Farfalle Cream Pasta. The space will also feature plenty of photo spots, so be sure to take some pictures with the person you love!

    To commemorate the start of Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 on January 9, 2022, some powerful new wall art filled with storyboards and other imagery from the series has appeared in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya train stations for a limited time!

     

     

    These incredible images will only be available to see until January 9, so if you’re near any of these stations, be sure to check them out! Starting on January 4, a countdown video of ‘favorite scenes’ as chosen by six popular creators will be posted to the official anime Twitter account (@anime_shingeki).
