SEKAI NO OWARI announced the release of their first-ever greatest hits album SEKAI NO OWARI 2010-2019 back in March to be May 27, 2020, but the release date was postponed due to the pandemic. However, fans will be pleased to know that a new release date has been announced: February 10, 2021, which falls on a commemorative day for the band as it is the same date as when they made their debut.

To promote the new release date, SEKAI NO OWARI have unveiled the cover art along with what fans can expect on this album.

The idea for the cover art was conceived by band lead vocalist and bassist Fukase, who took the photo of the ominous-looking tree himself at the beginning of 2020 when he visited Norway.

SEKAI NO OWARI 2010-2019 includes 30 tracks across two discs, featuring all the band’s best songs from their debut album EARTH during their independent era to their latest two albums Eye and Lip. It also includes an unreleased bonus track.

The Limited Pressing Premium Box Edition comes with a 368-page book entitled History of SEKAI NO OWARI which is split by year, covering the band’s 10-year history from their debut to today. Fans can hear stories behind the production of their early music and more. It also comes with the same live DVD coupled with the First Press Limited Edition. It features over 20 of the band’s best live performances including the summer festival they played when they debuted, their “TOKYO FANTASY” show from 2014 which until now has never been publicly released and which had to be cancelled on the final day due to a typhoon.

Fukase (SEKAI NO OWARI/End of the World) | Comment

"We have wandered these past seven years to seek out what colour this band is. Sometimes we discover it, sometimes it's an unfamiliar colour. This is an album covered in mud, and by no means a smart one."

Mick Guzauski (Album Mixer) | Comment

"I'm so happy to be associated with this amazing album. Although we've had to communicate remotely, the band had such enthusiasm in all the details throughout production. They are devoted to their sound and are very intent on their aesthetic. They were really interested in my opinions on the engineering work, and all of this was incorporated into the album. I'm glad I got to work with them, it's been an unforgettable experience."   End of the World released a music video for their song 'Rollerskates' from the album which stars Japanese actress Nana Komatsu.
The music video was shot in New York and has a romantic, beautiful, and nostalgic feel to it with rollerskating through the restless night.

    Fukase | Comment

"BAD MOOD for me is a show that explores the source of creativity. Whenever a series is born, it feels neither like the time when you look up and see a fresh blue sky, nor the time taken to enjoy a nice breakfast. I believe creativity is both a type of instinctive self-defence as well as something positive used to move forward in a negative situation. In fact, when I first conceived this animation project, I thought that if I'm just going to continue writing music as work, then I might as will quit, and that if there's no need for SEKAI NO OWARI then we should break up. BAD MOOD contains messages I'm unable to convey in music, not in the form of my own words, but in animated form. The thing said and the situations in it are things from inside my own head, but by no means is this a proxy for my own opinions, and so I hope you can watch it with a broad mind, especially since we've living in the time we are right now."
