Apparel brand SPINNS is teaming up with Gugenka, a digital goods company utilizing VR and AR to bring anime to life! A new collection of goods featuring Hatsune Miku and the official member of SPINNS virtual staff team Tsumugi Hinata will be available on ZOZOTOWN starting June 18, 2022.

SPINNS is a popular Japanese apparel brand amongst teenagers and those in their early 20s, with items available in stores nationwide. In 2020, the company announced that it would be employing ‘virtual staff,’ introducing the adorable Tsumugi Hinata. SPINNS is actively planning and releasing digital fashion items for users’ avatars.

Palette Club, a school for illustrators located in Tsukiji, will be holding a 45th Anniversary exhibition for OSAMU GOODS! The characters were created in 1976 by Osamu Harada, who is from Tsukiji, and Dusty Miller. Items featuring these adorable characters are still incredibly popular to this day.

Osamu Harada was one of the most beloved illustrators in Japanese history, appealing to people of all ages and backgrounds. Starting on September 23, 2021, at JR Omiya Station, a total of seven pop-up shops will appear all over Tokyo to sell both nostalgic and new Osamu Goods featuring a number of his popular characters. 

The Osamu Harada exhibition began two years ago and has traveled all over Japan, attracting fans both young and old to appreciate Harada’s collection of heartwarming works. The artist passed away in 2016 at the age of 70. 

Due to a recent boom on social media regarding the illustrator’s works, these pop-up stores aim to meet the current demand for Harada merchandise. Starting last year, the artist’s works have been featured in collaboration with a number of women’s fashion brands, amping up the hype even more. Those purchasing ¥2,500 or more (tax included) at the pop-up shop will receive a limited edition sticker at random (7 varieties available). By following the official Twitter account and posting with relevant hashtags, those interested can also win an original balloon!

Apparel brand SPINNS has teamed up with popular YouTuber trio Uchira 3 Shimai for some new key visuals. The creators–Koma, Yura, and Toua– currently have over 490,000 followers, and have been taking Japan by storm with their genre-less and extremely original videos.

The inspiration for the visuals is self-love and acceptance. “It’s okay to like the real you. It’s also okay to want to be a little taller. What’s important is that you keep challenging yourself.” SPINNS 2021 brand slogan is ‘If you can change, you’re invincible.’
