My Hero Academia Wind Orchestra Concert Announced in Tokyo

After a successful run back in August 2019, the My Hero Academia themed wind orchestra concert is set to return this year with a brand new show at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre’s Concert Hall on July 17.

My Hero Academia is an ongoing manga series by Kōhei Horikoshi’s serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump. It’s set in a world where 80% of people have special powers known as “Quirks.” In the story, people with Quirks aspire to become heroes to protect people and the society they live in. The fifth season of the series’ anime adaptation began airing in February, and a new anime film, My Hero Academia The Movie: World Heroes’ Mission, is slated for release this year.

 

The performance will see orchestral renditions of tracks by Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra that have been carefully selected from My Hero Academia‘s OST, which was originally composed by Yuki Hayashi. This will include popular songs instantly-recognisable to fans such as You Say Run and Watashi ga Kita!!. Hayashi himself will be present at the concert to talk about the songs, and there will even be a talk with Deku and Bakugo’s voice actors Daiki Yamashita and Nobuhiko Okamoto.

    Singer-songwriter Eve has announced his biggest ever arena tour, Eve Arena Tour 2023 Kororon, along with a key visual. This will mark the artist’s first tour since the Eve Live Tour 2022, which also merited an additional performance at Nippon Budokan in August 2022. The arena tour will be held for two days at Osaka-Jo Hall in Osaka on August 19 and August 20 and at Pia Arena MM in Kanagawa on August 26 and August 27.

     

    Eve has also released a limited edition jacket for his new Bokurano EP scheduled to be released on March 22, 2023. The EP contains the track Bokurano, the opening theme for the currently-airing season of My Hero Academia. The jacket art is an original drawing by the anime production company BONES.

     

    All first edition copies of Bokurano will include a code that can be used to enter the lottery to snag tickets to the Eve Arena Tour 2023 Kororon.

    The sixth opening song for the anime series My Hero Academia, Bokurano, was added to all major streaming services on January 8, 2023. The track is performed by popular artist Eve.

    Eve, a longtime fan of My Hero Academia, claims that the episodes in the second cour of the sixth season hold a “special place” in his heart. “The song Bokurano was created to inspire our favorite battered heroes, pushing them to overcome their hardships together,” he said. The track features Eve’s signature fast-paced guitar along with the singer’s powerful voice and sensitive lyrics. Up-and-coming music video creator niL, who previously worked on Eve’s Yuseiboushi, provided the jacket art

     

    In the second cour of the sixth season, the protagonist Izuku Midoriya will face the aftermath of the deadly battle seen during the Paranormal Liberation War Arc. The opening shows Deku with an entirely new aura and fans are sure to be shocked by how the series progresses!

  • My Hero Academia Underwear Now Available from HIPSHOP

    A collaboration has been announced between the popular shop HIPSHOP and My Hero Academia, a popular anime series that has just started its sixth season. The new products will be available at HIPSHOP stores nationwide and online starting on November 11, 2022.

  • My Hero Academia Pop-Up Shop Opens in Tokyo for a Limited Time

    My Hero Academia began its sixth season this month, and to celebrate, a special pop-up store will open at Tokyo Solamachi for a limited time. Fans will be able to grab some neat merch from November 5 until December 2, 2022.

    The new merchandise features unique character nametags drawn exclusively for the shop. Fans can grab all kinds of goods, from acrylic pen stands and pins to clear folders and pouches. 

     

    Purchase Bonuses Available

    Guests spending ¥1,000 (tax included) or more will be gifted an original illustration card. Ten designs are available, and each card will be given out at random. 

     

    These new products can also be purchased online at the Tree Village site from November 5 at 9:00 until December 2 at 23:59. Note that the purchase bonus is not available for online orders.

  • Studio Chizu Cinematic Orchestra to be Streamed Online

    To celebrate the first anniversary of the animated Studio Chizu film Belle, a special Cinematic Orchestra will be held on August 14 at the Tokyo International Forum. Original merchandise will also be on sale at the venue, with some pieces featuring an incredible illustration of Belle from the feature film and others displaying Studio Chizu’s symbolic blue sky and white clouds.

     

    With only a few tickets left to attend the concert in person, it has been announced that the concert will be streamed online! Viewers can enjoy this powerful performance by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra along with iconic footage from many Studio Chizu works from the comfort of their own homes. 

     

     

    Studio Chizu’s films are loved around the world. The songs to be performed in this special concert include those from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast, Mirai, and Belle.

    Japanese hanko stamp shop HANKOS released a new collection of official stamps with character designs from the anime series My Hero Academia on June 22, 2022!

     

    These order-made hanko stamps, which are used in place of signatures in Japan, let you pick your favorite character to be engraved along with your name or a word written in Japanese.

  • My Hero Academia Hero’s Holiday Fair Begins at Animate

    The globally popular My Hero Academia anime series is being featured at the ‘My Hero Academia Hero’s Holiday Fair’ at Animate locations around Japan and online through March 13, 2022.

     

    The My Hero Academia manga series by Kohei Horikoshi has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2014, and over 65 million copies have been sold worldwide. The series tells the story of Izuku Midoriya, a boy without superpowers in a world where they have become commonplace. Still dreaming of being a hero, he is scouted by Japan’s greatest hero All Might, who chooses Midoriya as his successor. The series celebrated the fifth anniversary of the subsequent anime series last year, spanning five seasons and three films. The sixth season is scheduled to premiere in fall 2022.

    Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 is currently airing, and to keep up the hype, a live video of the popular track Ashes on the Fire has been posted to YouTube. The internationally acclaimed song was composed by Kohta Yamamoto and appears in a pivotal scene in the anime series.   • TV Anime Series ‘Run with the Wind’ to Hold Orchestral Concert in Tokyo

    The concert featuring the TV anime series Run with the Wind based on the novel Run with the Wind  by Shion Miura, will be held on December 29, 2021 at Ebisu The Garden Hall.

    For this concert, Production I.G, the animation company that produced the anime series Run with the Wind, will be involved in the video production. Based on scenes selected by composer Yuki Hayashi, the video has been re-edited for the concert and will be delivered with a live performance by the gorgeous musicians.

     

    The day will surely be a special one, where you can enjoy the music of the special band orchestra alongside a number of masterly scenes. Don’t miss this chance to experience the world of the film before the Hakone Ekiden, the university relay race in January that the characters are striving for!

  • Program Sneak-Peek for Monster Hunter Online Orchestra Released

    A number of tracks set to be performed at the upcoming online Monster Hunter Orchestra have been announced! The concert will be held on September 28 at 19:00 and will have no live audience. Tickets for the online streaming event are on sale now until October 11, 2021. A number of pieces from the Monster Hunter series will be performed by a full orchestra, and fans won’t want to miss it!

     

    Seven songs have been announced, including tracks from the newest entry to the franchise Monster Hunter Rise. Vocalist Izumi Kato, who provided Hinoa’s singing voice,  will also be present to perform the song Kamura’s Song of Purification. Hirofumi Kurita is returning as the maestro for the performance and has conducted the Monster Hunter Orchestra since 2014. Hideki Ishigaki will play the traditional shakuhachi, while Momoka Enomoto plays the biwa. Sho Asano will be on the Tsugaru-shamisen, while the shredding electric guitar will be expertly handled by Daisuke Miyazaki. A special behind-the-scenes speech will also be given by Ryozo Tsujimoto, the producer of Capcom’s Monster Hunter series.

  • Attack on Titan Orchestra Concert Invites Line-Up of Famous Guest Artists

    An Attack on Titan orchestra concert has been announced and will take place at Pacifico Yokohama National Convention Hall on August 22, 2021. Scheduled to perform are guests are Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto as well as guest vocalists Aimee Blackschleger, Eliana, Laco, and mpi. Priority tickets can be applied for by purchasing Volume 1 of the DVD or Blu-ray volume of Attack on Titan The Final Season which is set to be released in Japan on July 7.
