Loft Opens New Store in Ginza & Stocks Cosmetic Gift Box Designed by Rina Tanaka

A new Loft store has opened its doors in Ginza and can be found on floors 3 to 6 of Ginza Velvia in Ginza Ni-Chome.
Loft specialises as a variety goods shop with Ginza Loft spearheading as the flagship store. It houses a plethora of items and goods stocked up to meet customers’ needs, to the extent that Loft will be their first port of call for something they require. If they need something, Loft will probably have it. The shop also hosts events and numerous activities that you can participate in.
Each floor is divided into categories. 3F is “Body & Beauty” where you can enjoy testers for the latest cosmetics. It also shelves a huge line-up of beauty products and healthcare items. There’s also the “Loft Market”, the watchmakers “ontime”, the iPhone repair service “iCracked” and more.
You can find the Loft original cosmetic brand “LOFCOS” in the beauty and healthcare zone alongside a host of other products making their debut at Ginza Loft. The new store is also currently selling a cosmetic gift box put together by popular model Rina Tanaka, containing various Loft originals.
5F is home to “Work & Study” where you can get your hands on some fun looking stationary while still looking intelligent. 6F is the “MEDICOM TOY” floor where you can purchase art and merchandise related to anime.

Hands-On POKEMON COLORS Exhibition Opening in Osaka for Limited Time
The globally-beloved Pokemon franchise is celebrating 25 years throughout 2021. Throughout the year, the POKEMON COLORS exhibition has opened in cities throughout Japan, bringing a barrage of bright colors, fantastic art, and Pokemon-themed activities to fans nationwide. As guests move throughout the event space, various projections and images around them change, with popular Pokemon characters popping up and flooding the world around them in color. Now, the POKEMON COLORS exhibition is set to open in Osaka beginning September 30.
Inspired by the more than 800 Pokemon species in the franchise, the POKEMON COLORS project uses sensors placed throughout the event space to track visitors movements, altering the images, music, and lighting accordingly. Meant to be a combination of pop culture and minimalist digital art, it’s an experience like no other.
160 unique goods will be available at the exhibition, from apparel and art pieces to cell phone cases and office supplies. Be sure to check it out if you’re in Osaka this fall!

Tokyo Revengers Characters Speak Local Dialects on New Posters Across Tokyo Station
Starting September 13, characters from the popular anime series Tokyo Revengers are taking over Tokyo Station in a unique new poster campaign! In addition to one main poster featuring all main characters, 47 local posters–one for each Japanese prefecture–are being displayed throughout the massive train station, with characters speaking in local dialects to promote different areas of Japan. For those learning Japanese, this is a neat way to learn more about the unique vocabulary used throughout the country.
A fun Twitter campaign is also underway, asking fans to tweet #オレの地元が最強 (#MyHometownIsTheStrongest). The special prize will be a B0 Japan Revengers poster, given to only one winner, with the remaining 47 winners able to snag a B2-size poster.
A special advertisement for Japan Revengers will appear in the morning edition of the September 17th edition of the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. Additionally, to celebrate the release of the 24th volume of the Tokyo Revengers manga series, those who purchase the new volume will receive one randomly-selected 47-prefecture illustration card during the in-store campaign.

Hotel New Otani Announces Second PAUL & JOE Collaboration
Hotel New Otani Tokyo has collaborated with PAUL & JOE for the second time to offer a new accomodation plan, which will be available for one-night stays between December 1 2021 and January 4 2022. The rooms will not be available between December 31 and January 2.
This collaboration room will allow you to surround yourself in the world of PAUL & JOE, a Parisian brand PAUL & JOE that is extremely popular with young women in their 20s and 30s. The initial collaboration was so popular that within just 10 days, all of the available dates within three months were sold out. This Christmas edition will only be available for one month, so be sure to book while you can.
The pink and ivory room features the brand’s icon; Designer Sophie’s beloved cats, Nunet and Gypsy. The decorations also feature Crisantemo flower motifs.
Not only is the wallpaper covered in PAUL & JOE motifs, but even the smaller pieces such as cushions, curling irons, and brushes are themed too. In addition, to celebrate the festive season, the room will include a special Christmas tree, allowing you to enjoy a special Christmas with somebody special, sharing a view of Tokyo Tower.
The second round of cosmetics is focused on the 2021 CHRISTMAS COLLECTION. 10-Day Sustainability Themed Event ‘Love Earth, Love Us’ to Open at Sendai PARCO
Sendai PARCO will begin a 10-day event focusing on the idea of sustainability starting September 17 and concluding September 26, 2021. ‘Love Earth, Love Us’ will highlight sustainability-related products and services available at the shops within Sendai PARCO, and a web page has already been opened to get people thinking about this important subject. Those purchasing or using any of these products and services will receive certain added bonuses, as a way to raise awareness and give back to those making an effort to support the health of the planet.
The main visual used in promoting the event was drawn by Toshiya Nakashima, and depicts Mount Vinicunca in Peru, often called Rainbow Mountain. The drawing was commissioned by Heralbony, an art gallery featuring pieces by those with intellectual disabilities, who will also hold a limited-time pop-up shop inside Sendai PARCO during the event. The shop will sell unique items, including hand towels featuring this gorgeous portrait of Rainbow Mountain, so don’t miss out!
Back to the Future Exhibition Displays Props from 1985 Film in Japan for the First Time
The Hot Toys flagship store, TOY SAPIENS Tokyo, will begin hosting a free Back to the Future event titled RETRO SAPIENS starting September 18, and running until October 31, 2021.
Along with the opening of this exciting event, the TOY SAPIENS Tokyo store is also unveiling its new location. The much larger shop is now an easy walk from Shibuya Station and Harajuku Station!
After the event at the Tokyo location concludes, the event will travel to three more TOY SAPIENS stores nationwide, to allow more fans to see these legendary props in person. RETRO SAPIENS will open in Osaka in November 2021, and in Nagoya in February 2022.
One-of-a-kind props, clothing items, and set pieces from the Back to the Future film will be on display for the first time ever in Japan during this event. If you’re a fan, be sure to come and enjoy–admission is free! A number of Back to the Future related merchandise will also be on sale, including figures, apparel, and items only available at the RETRO SAPIENS event. These limited-edition products will also be available online at the TOY SAPIENS Official Online Store starting September 21.

‘KATE iCON BOX’ Eyeshadow Vending Machine Uses AI to Select Personalized Colors

Makeup brand KATE has produced the KATE iCON BOX, a contemporary digital experience for the New Normal where four personalized eye shadow colors are chosen through AI and released like a vending machine. First Season of SUNRISE x ASOBISYSTEM Anime Series Artiswitch Comes to an End

Artiswitch, a collaborative anime series made by SUNRISE (Mobile Suit Gundam, Love Live!) and ASOBISYSTEM, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s agency, premiered on YouTube on May 28, 2021. The show, based in Harajuku, has featured a wide range of content pulling from fashion, art, and music trends. A number of now-popular artists and creators were also responsible for contributing to each episode.
Artiswitch Episode 6 Preview
Aiming to highlight the many counter-cultures to come out of Harajuku, such as Urahara and KAWAII fashion, Artiswitch has employed many active creators and artists responsible for making the art, music, and fashion scene so powerful in the area today. The series shows the balance between desire and loneliness present in Gen Z youth, who are excellent at using technology but often confuse what is real and what is fantasy.
The series has been available to watch on the official Artiswitch YouTube channel since release, and the final episode of the first season is now available, releasing on September 10, 2021. Because of the contributions of so many talented creators, the short series has been praised both in Japan and abroad.
Artiswitch is set in Ura-Ura Harajuku, where a certain witch named Nina runs a shop, fulfilling her guests’ every wish and desire by forcing them to look deep inside their hearts at their true feelings. Customers are sometimes excited, but sometimes hurt, and must make their own choices to try to make their dreams come true.
The insert songs for each episode are sung by a different artist each week, with the songs linking to the story and art of each installment specifically.

Your Voice will Reach the Members in the Fifth UVERworld x nana Online Collaboration Event

UVERworld has collaborated with karaoke social media app ‘nana’ for the fifth ‘Screaming for THE LIVE’ project. You can participate in the event until September 20, 2021.
The UVERworld and nana collaboration has been held four times since December 2020, proving popular with Crew (UVERworld fans) each time. Even fans who attend the live concerts can’t convey their feelings using their voices or meet the members when they want to. In order for Crew’s voices to reach the members, nana has agreed to work together with UVERworld to create this collaboration project.
This time, the available songs are ‘Rai Chou E’ and ‘SOUL,’ which were released on September 1, 2021. You can participate by singing and cheering along to the official instrumental through the nana app and sharing the recording using the hashtag. The shared voice recordings will be used at future live events.
