Pokémon & Isetan Collaborative to Set Up “Isetan Mart”—Get Limited Edition Merch at Real-Life Poké Mart!

02.August.2017 | FASHION / FOOD

It’s been 21 years since the first ever Pokémon games, Pokémon Red and Green, were released back in 1996 for the Game Boy. The kids that were playing the game back then have grown up and become adults.

The generation gap between Pokémon fans is diverse, with older players enjoying current generation games, as well as Pokémon GO.

Isetan has teamed up with Pokémon to build the “Isetan Mart,” based on the concept of the Poké Mart as seen in the game.

In their story, the “Isetan Mart” is located in middle of the fictitious “Shinjuku City,” as based on one of the many cities you travel to in the Pokémon games. Shinjuku City is the place where trends are set and where fashion, food and new fads are featured every day. The Isetan Mart is the number one place recommended to enthusiastic Pokémon trainers out there, offering a wide variety of enjoyments from cool and cute original merchandise to a secret lounge with a fitting Pokémon menu full of delicious goodies.

The Isetan Lounge is one of the standout features of Isetan Mart. This is where you’ll be served by members of Team Ise, as based on the rival groups found throughout the Pokémon games such as Team Rocket. In Japanese, the ‘team’ like in ‘Team Rocket’ is pronounced ‘tan,’ hence Team Ise (ise-tan). The lounge offers a menu reminiscent of a trip overseas.

You can look forward to enjoying plenty of Pokémon themed food and drinks, including treats based on Pikachu and Poké Balls. As well as that, there will be a special photo spot set up for you to take a photo to remember your exciting visit.

There will be a select number of seats available on the day, but the lounge is mostly reservation-only, so be sure to check the link below to reserve yourself seats.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. You Pokémon trainers out there will also be able to get your hands on some original merchandise. There’s a huge line-up of cute items that you will only be able to purchase here such as pixel magnets designed around different Pokémon, a Pikachu plushy wearing a scarf, and much, much more.

If you’re out and about in Shinjuku then don’t miss out on this opportunity to visit a real-life Poké Mart!
