Legendary pokémon “Moltres” makes an appearance in Pokémon GO & rural players continue to suffer worldwide
03.August.2017 | SPOT
Pokémon GO took the world by storm when it was released last year, and the game has continued to enjoy a dedicated fan base thanks to its ongoing series of updates to only improve the game further and make it more enjoyable for all. There’s a lot to do in Pokémon GO. It’s not just about catching Pokémon. A new update was recently released for players to engage in ‘Raid Battles” with their friends and fellow trainers which sees them heading out to raid a Gym and take down its Raid Boss.
There comes a time when everyone takes a break from Pokémon GO. But lots of people likely will have used the recent news as an opportunity to boot the game back up again. The legendary Pokémon “Moltres” has just been released and has been the talk of the town in Japan.
“Moltres, the legendary Pokémon, is now available! Invite your fellow trainers and challenge yourselves to a Raid Battle with the legendary Pokémon!”
— Pokémon GO Japan (@PokemonGOAppJP) 2017年7月31日
Lots of trainers are encountering Moltres and heading into battle with it. This is a Pokémon that can be obtained via the recent “Raid Battle” function.
“We did it with 7 people!”
— なぜ黄色にした！(´⊙ω⊙`)TL38 (@KenHos2015) 2017年8月1日
You will need a team of 20 people to have enough manpower to take down the Pokémon. It also seems that the issues surrounding rural players of Pokémon GO are resurfacing. These issues aren’t limited to Japan – it is a global problem. Pokémon trainers living in rural locations have been expressing their disappointment across social media.
・For starters, there are no gyms
“There are basically no gyms in the countryside”
レイドバトルってさ…時間も限られてるから大人はなかなか出来ないよね…。田舎なんてジムも少ないし伝説はもう諦めた。 — 海姫(ミキ) (@DreamWing07) 2017年8月1日
Very relevant.. I kinda was in your video as I live in a small rural village @MYSTIC7 1 gym and 2 stops. I have had rare spawns here tho pic.twitter.com/e2h0dPhj98 — Mike Andrew (@mundic_pokemon) 2017年7月18日
The lack of gyms and PokeStops in Pokémon GO has been an ongoing problem since the game was released. There are regions where there are no PokeStops or gyms surrounding people’s houses, meaning players are unable to enjoy the game. You can only catch a legendary Pokémon in a Raid Battle, so if you compare the lack of gyms in rural areas to those in cities, the encounter rate with a legendary is practically non-existent.
・Unable to defeat a legendary Pokémon by oneself
“You won’t win on your own”
ポケモンgoで伝説のポケモン出るようになったけど田舎だから1人じゃ絶対勝てない( ´･ω･`) — しょこたん☆11w (@syokomc) 2017年8月1日
The cp of boss Pokemon are too high for rural players. There arnt enough people to battle — Jesse (@Millenniowl) 2017年6月24日
“I waited 1 hour and only 2 people came…”
If you want to catch a legendary Pokémon, it’s a requirement to defeat it in a Raid Battle. You can easily take one down together with 20 people, but it’s proving to be difficult to gather enough people if you’re living in the countryside. Legendary Pokémon have a greater CP and are much stronger than regular Pokémon. So if you go at it alone, chances are you’re not going to survive.
The complaints of people all around the world expressing how they are unable to enjoy the game are sure to reach the ears of management. There will be plenty more to look forward to from Pokémon GO from here on, too. And the day will come when every Pokémon trainer out there can enjoy the same experience and adventure no matter where they reside.
For now, keep levelling up and become the strongest trainer out there!
