Popular Rilakkuma and Sumikko Gurashi characters will be taking over Tokorozawa Sakura Town in Saitama from April 16 until May 22 during the Rilakkuma & Sumikko Gurashi Festival! Guests will be greeted by the characters themselves, and will be able to participate in tons of fun activities, photo spots, and more!
The festival will have a full lineup of exclusive merchandise only available at Tokorozawa Sakura Town, from cute and useful items like clear folders to fans to use during the summer heat.
A limited collaboration menu with Kadokawa Shokudou will also be available during the event. The ‘Rilakkuma & Sumikko Gurashi Festival Picnic Plate’ is full of fun finger foods that are easy for both adults and children to eat and includes a special lunch mat. Guests can also participate in a commemorative photo session with the characters dressed in new costumes!
Closed on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Tuesday of each month (If Tuesday is a national holiday, the festival will be open on that date, and closed the following day.) To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Rilakkuma and his adorable friends, the Rilakkuma 20th Anniversary Cafe will open in Omotesando, Tokyo from March 9 until April 16, 2023. You’ll want to come and spend a peaceful time looking back at two decades of everyone’s favorite lazy bear!
The menu features colorful and festive dishes inspired by Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Kiiroitori, and Chairoikoguma. The characters express their thanks for 20 successful years, and fans can enjoy floats topped with Rilakkuma and friends wearing ribbons and topped with ice cream, a jelly soda inspired by Chairoikoguma and his friends in the honey forest, and a hot drink inspired by Rilakkuma's favorite pudding.

From October 22, 2022 until January 15, 2023, the Sumikko Gurashi Studio Park Hide-and-Seek event is happening at Toei Kyoto Studio Park. During the event, guests are tasked with exploring the venue for hidden Sumikko characters. After finding them, they must write down the keywords on a special sheet in order to win a prize. Limited edition collaboration goods and special menu items are now available depicting the characters in traditional kimonos!

3. Collaboration Train Service for a Limited Time
Kyoto’s Randen streetcar connects Shijo-Omiya in the center of Kyoto with the sightseeing spots of Arashiyama and Kitanohakubaicho. During the event period, the train will be decorated with Sumikko Gurashi characters, and riders can even grab a special ticket and exclusive ticket case.

Bandai’s Candy Division will open preorders for a new collection of Christmas cakes inspired by popular characters at the end of September!
