  • Rice Flavoured Roasted Mochi Pieces in Cute Packaging Release in Japan

    08.July.2021 | FOOD

Chuoken Senbei released its limited-edition "Arare Jumpin!" rice flavoured roasted mochi pieces snack last Wednesday online at Makuake.

Arare Jumpin! (Set of 3) | Cheese, Dadacha Mame Soybean, Corn | ¥2,540 (Tax Included)

Arare Jumpin! (Set of 6) | Two boxes of each flavour | ¥4,320 (Tax Included)

Chuoken Senbei is a Japanese rice cracker manufacturer that has been around for 100 years. Their new "Arare Jumpin!" snack was created as a way to get more people enjoying the taste of arare, roasted mochi pieces, and so it came up with a new version that goes well with soup.   The snack is made with fibrous genmai rice and is combined with lactic acid bacteria. It arrives in three flavours all of which are so tasty they can be eaten everyday without getting bored of them. Each tiny piece has a cute face printed on it.   "Arare Jumpin!" solves many problems for Japanese people, especially for those who have no time to prepare their own arare, are able to make them easily but are worried about getting enough nutrients, or can't get their kids to eat them, since it's made to be eaten in soup, adding a delightfully crunchy texture. The product comes in cute colourful packaging with the characters swimming in soup. Each bag contains Shield Lactic Acid Bacteria® which is made up of 10 billion lactic acid bacteria. The bateria has mostly no taste or odour so the delicious flavour of the snack isn't compromised. Genmai rice also contains six times more fibre than ordinary Japanese white rice, so is a healthy everyday option. Available in cheese, soybean, and corn flavours, the arare can be used as toppings in salad and other foods too.The mochi rice used is called Miyakoganemochi which is produced in Miyagi Prefecture. It's white and smooth and is popular for its viscosity and flavour. It takes over eight days to create this "Arare Jumpin!" and that's why it's limited in stock. Everything from cooking the rice to refrigerating, cutting, baking, bagging, and boxing up.
