09.October.2018 | ANIME&GAME / MUSIC

Japanese rock heroine LiSA has announced that she will release a new double A-side single titled Akai Wana (who loves it?) / ADAMAS on December 12. The single will be the singer’s 14th single.

The song ADAMAS is being used as the opening theme song to the TV anime series Sword Art Online: Alicization which began airing on October 7. The rock tune paints a picture of the world of the newest entry to the Sword Art Online franchise with its symphonic string sections, edgy guitar sound and LiSA’s high tone vocals.

The song is also the sixth in total that LiSA has provided for the Sword Art Online series in which she has performed songs for its anime series, movie and games. The song was also released digitally as a standalone track on October 8.

Details surrounding the other track on the single, Akai Wana (who loves it?), have yet to be revealed, but we know it’s composed by Tomoya Tabuchi and arranged by Shouta Horie, with lyrics written by LiSA and Tomoya Tabuchi.

Tabuchi is the bassist for rock band  UNISON SQUARE GARDEN who has had a hand in several of LiSA’s songs, including those to be released on the newest edition of LiSA’s greatest hits album, LiSA BEST -Day- and LiSA BEST -Way- WiNTER PACKAGE on October 10.

The double A-side single will be released in three versions: a First Press Limited Edition and Limited Pressing Edition both featuring CDs and DVDs, and the CD-only Regular Edition.

The First Press Limited Edition includes the music video for Akai Wana (who loves it?) and a booklet. The Limited Pressing Edition features the music video for ADAMAS as well as a creditless version of the opening video for Sword Art Online: Alicization. It also comes decked out with a slip case and mini poster both featuring illustrations of the anime.

LiSA embarked on her all-Japan tour titled “LiVE is Smile Always~ASiA TOUR 2018~[core]” on October 6 which will see her head to 13 hall venues across the country.
