The popular sweet that goes to great lengths to look cute and have great taste

tago_kiji_1

The sweet that became popular in this summer was “Mt. Fuji shaved ice” which is made it to look like Mount Fuji. The good point of this shaved ice is the home made syrup. The strawberry flavored syrup is made of Shizuoka’s brand name strawberry, “Beni Hoppe” and is blended with a few different kinds of sugars. This syrup is only made of strawberry and sugars, so it tastes naturally fruity. It is light pink colored and doesn’t contain food coloring at all, so you can enjoy their appearance but also enjoy eating it with kids because it contains no artificial additives.

Ogura Matcha shaved ice has sweeten bean paste that is the Tago no Tsuki’s special one that are made of red beans from Hokkaido, Tokachi. Their match Green tea syrup is made light bitter green tea from Shizuoka, so you will get addicted to this taste which is not too sweet but not a bitter taste either.

Both of these kinds of shaved ice has sweet bean jelly that looks like Mt. Fuji and is worth taking some pictures. These cute looking sweets made me feel their special attachment to Mt. Fuji.

Other than these, there are more popular sweets such as “Shira-tama cream Anmitsu”, sweet dumplings and ice-cream topped with jelly jam, and Match green tea parfait that you can have anytime thorough the year. Both of these products are produced by long-experienced Japanese sweets chef in Tago no Tsuki, so these are fully utilizing their special red beans. I would like you to enjoy these special Japanese sweets with coffee. This coffee is special roast coffee which tastes less bitter and less sour than regular coffee to go with Japanese sweets. Of course, you can enjoy the flavor of coffee, and also have a pleasant aftertaste.

Tago no tsuki originally has a lot of customers who come there to get snacks as souvenirs or gifts. They opened this café from the idea that they want people to enjoy Japanese sweets more daily.

They worked hard to make the relaxed space inside the café by putting muted colored furniture spaciously.  And this building is very spacious made of glass, and the door to the terrace is always opening. There are many people who spend the day even in hot summer.

There are plants outside the store which changes depending on the season. This building was designed for people to enjoy the scenery of those plants and flowers from the windows. There are also inside plants everywhere in this café, and they make a fire in the fireplace in winter. You can enjoy each season even if you are inside the building, so you will want to come back many times.

This café starts enchanting not only people who just want to spend time in there, which used to be the main customers in this café, but also older people, young couples, and family.

I would like you to enjoy not only their great Tago no tsuki’s Japanese sweets but also relaxed time in this café.
