Yu Nagaba x Snoopy Clothing Collection to Release at UNIQLO

Japanese illustrator Yu Nagaba is collaboration with the popular Peanuts comics to release a collection of T-shirts from UNIQLO’s graphic T-shirt brand UT. It is a follow up to his last year’s collaboration with Snoopy and the Peanuts gang and will release at UNIQLO in Japan on January 1, 2021.

Yu Nagaba himself is a fan of Peanuts and has used his iconic drawing style to capture the gang’s positivity to create a collection that’s sure to keep you uplifted throughout the day.

UNIQLO Harajuku’s Enormous Snoopy by Yu Nagaba
Nagaba has also illustrated an enormous 1.5-meter canvas of Snoopy which will be put into the UNIQLO Harajuku store on December 26. The illustrator will also be present on January 9, 2021 to do signings. But that’s not all—customers who spend over ¥5,000 (before tax) in the store between January 1-3 next year will also receive a Yu Nagaba original sign bag along with sweets. These are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, for every two Yu Nagaba x Peanuts items bought at all UNIQLO stores in Japan, customers will receive a special sticker.

Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club x Oedo Onsen Monogatari Event Announced
The Tokyo-based bathhouse Oedo Onsen Monogatari is set to collaborate with the anime series Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club with a special event titled ‘Tokimeki Onsen Monogatari’ from July 30 to September 5. This will mark the site’s final collaboration with an anime series as the bathhouse is closing on September 5.
For the collaboration, panels and decorations featuring original artwork of the Nijigaku members is featured around the bathhouse. There’s also a special photospot featuring a backdrop of a scene taken the anime’s second episode.
A lottery draw will take place where you can pay ¥550 for a chance to win a cushion, illustrated print, or bromide. There are also 10 collab drinks as well as three pasta dishes to pick from. Fans can also get their hands on exclusive merch such as keyrings, tees, tapestries, and more.

LINE FRIENDS Collaborates With Minions For 10th Anniversary
As part of the LINE FRIENDS 10th anniversary celebrations, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Brand Development released the MINIONS X BROWN & FRIENDS collection at the LINE FRIENDS Harajuku store and the online store on July 22. A collection of digital accessories, camping items, and golf goods will also roll out in August. This includes a release at 17 branches of KIDDYLAND on August 7 as part of PLAY LINE FRIENDS.
BROWN & FRIENDS began as a stamp series on the Japanese messaging app LINE. The characters are now featured just about everywhere including as merchandise. See Brown and Sally meet Kevin, Bob, and Stuart from the hit animated films Despicable Me and Minions in the form of digital accessories aimed at tech lovers such as AirPods cases and smartphone clips as well as eco bags, golfing equipment, camping necessities, and more.

KYOTO YURA HOTEL MGallery is a hotel group based in Paris, France which operates over 5,000 hotels and resorts in 110 countries worldwide. Together with the mineral water brand Perrier, the two companies launched the ‘Perrier Promotion with KYOTO YURA HOTEL MGallery’ on July 21 which includes a special cocktail and afternoon tea line-up being served up at Lounge & Bar 1867.

The drinks line-up includes three mocktails which are available on the free flow drinks menu when ordering the hotel’s popular afternoon tea. The afternoon tea set was conceived by pastry chef Jennie Chiu and is packed full of summer fruits like passion fruit and mango.
During the collaboration, the first 200 people to order either the afternoon tea set or high tea set will also receive a free novelty tote bag featuring the Takashi Murakami’s characters Kaikai and Kiki.
In the evenings, the Perrier Pop-Up Bar are serving two alcoholic cocktails alongside the mocktails.

ESTINATE HOTEL Celebrates Okinawa Branch’s 6th Anniversary With Ryu Ambe Collaboration
The lifestyle hotel chain ESTINATE HOTEL’s Okinawa Naha branch will turn 6-years-old on August 7, and to celebrate, it will hold a special event in collaboration with the character designer Ryu Ambe from August 6-15. This will be Ambe’s first-ever exhibition where his work will be sold in-person.

ESTINATE HOTEL has welcomed people from all regions of Japan over the years. It has held many events including one two years ago with the theme “Meet Local” and another last year themed on “Feel Global.” This year, the catchphrase is “Hello New World” which hopes to encourage people to discover new things by meeting the locals of Okinawa through the medium of art.
Ryu Ambe has a unique designer reminiscent of American comics. For this event, he has created the “Shima Map” which will be used on a variety of merchandise such as 30 limited-edition silk screen posters. There are also pottery pieces inspired by the sea life found in Okinawa’s oceans, amongst other art works.

BanG Dream! Girls Band Party x Fuji-Q Highland Summer Event Announced
Fuji-Q Highland is set to host a summer event in collaboration with the mobile rhythm game BanG Dream! Girls Band Party from August 7 to September 12.
This marks the amusement park’s 4th collaboration with the game which will see newly-illustrated artwork of the characters decorating the attractions, a special talk show hosted by the voice actresses, limited-time announcements on the attractions recorded by the voice actresses, a themed food menu, original merch, and more.
A digital stamp rally will also take place which will have guests locating life-sized panels of seven characters which they need to scan with their smartphone. This will give them a special voiced story. Those who obtain all the digital stamps by scanning all the panels will receive a free novelty as well as an original voiced guide for boarding the amusement park train. The train too will be decorated in BanG Dream! artwork.

GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE released their sixth studio album Up & Down on July 14, 2021. To promote the new record, which comes a year and eight months since their last album, the boy band are collaborating with the Japanese karaoke chain JOYSOUND.
The collaboration campaign is taking place at select JOYSOUND branches, including with the company’s latest JOYSOUND MAX GO machines. Fans can participate both at the karaoke booths as well as at home by using the official JOYSOUND app which is available on both iOS and Android.
Those taking part in-person at the karaoke booths will use the free Kyoku Navi JOYSOUND app, which turns their smartphone into a karaoke remote control, to select any of the 13 tracks from the band’s new album Up & Down, which includes five new songs such as HELLO! HALO! (feat.DANCEARTH). You can enter the campaign multiple times by singing each song once per day for a total of 13 submissions eveyrday.
If you’re singing from home, you use the JOYSOUND app and from there you share your performance on Twitter. You must tweet your post with the hashtag #GENERATIONS_JOYSOUND and be following the official JOYSOUND account @JOYSOUND_PR.
Three random people will be select from the submissions to receive a poster signed by all the GENERATIONS members. The band is also set to appear in the ‘SPECIAL FEATURE’ of JOYSOUND’s monthly artist pickup on August 2. An interview in Japanese will also be released on the campaign website where the band talk about the new album release.
