Starbucks Japan Reveals Earl Grey Honey Whip Frappuccino®and 3 New Tea Lattes

Starbucks Coffee Japan is pouring four new beverages into its ongoing winter beverage series starting on December 26: the Earl Grey Honey Whip Frappuccino®, Earl Grey Honey Whip Tea Latte, Chai & Whip Chocolate Tea Latte, and Houjicha Cream Tea Latte.

What better way to enjoy the winter season than with a cup of the Starbucks Earl Grey Honey Whip Frappuccino® or Earl Grey Honey Whip Tea Latte, both of which fuse the fragrant and elegant flavour of Earl grey with refreshing milk, sweet honey, and a topped of whipped cream. Both beverages are finished with a snow-dusting of white chocolate flakes.

As well as the Earl Grey Honey Whip Tea Latte, there’s the spicy Chai & Whip Chocolate Tea Latte topped with white chocolate and nutmeg as well as the Houjicha Cream Tea Latte which contains houjicha tea, white chocolate syrup, and whipped cream dusted with brown sugar. The mix of tea and milk makes for a harmonious indulgence.

Taking inspiration from Starbucks Reserve® Roastery Tokyo, all Starbucks branches in Japan will serve the Butterscotch Latte, using different ingredients from Roastery Tokyo, a combination of rich buttery and caramelly butterscotch sauce, a shot of espresso, and steamed milk.

  • Coffee from Around Japan to be Featured at the Yokohama Coffee Festival

    Yokohama Coffee Festival is coming back for the first time in three years! The event will bring together the best coffee from around Japan, showing off the personality and individuality of each shop. The festival was created to build bridges between shops and customers and to spread coffee culture in Yokohama. Coffee fans should head to Yokohama Park on October 23, 2022.    Coffee tickets–four cups for ¥1,000–will be available to purchase on the day of the event, allowing visitors to compare different shops. From those who are just starting to enjoy coffee to those who are coffee fanatics, this event will allow everyone to enjoy coffee to the max!   • Tea-focused Starbucks Scheduled to Open at AMU Plaza Hakata City

    Starbucks will open the first Starbucks Tea & Cafe location in Kyushu at AMU Plaza Hakata on April 27, 2022. This spin-off shop specializes in colorful, aromatic tea-based beverages, and has locations in Tokyo, Toyama, and Osaka.  Starbucks Coffee AMU Plaza Hakata, the first Starbucks Tea & Cafe to open in the Kyushu area, is a new store on the second floor of Amu Plaza Hakata directly connected to JR Hakata Station.

  • Sony Park Mini, an Experimental Pop-up Space, Opens in Ginza, Tokyo

    Sony Park Mini, a tiny experimental art space in Ginza, is going to hold fans over until Ginza Sony Park opens in 2024. Sony Park Mini is located in a small 3.5 square meter space on B1F of the Nishiginza parking lot adjacent to Ginza Sony Park, which is currently under construction. The concept of the space is to “hold events that highlight local artists.”   More than 30 experimental programs will be held throughout the year highlighting unique creators and artists from all backgrounds including music, film, art, food, fashion, and shopping. Depending on which programs are popular, the project may extend to other cities.    The first event, ‘Ayatake Exaki presents None Session,’ will run from March 23 until April 5, 2022, and will feature the musician and his piano.   Program Schedule 1: March 23 - April 5, 2022 / Ayatake Ezaki (Musical Artist) 2: April 6 - April 19, 2022 / Takuro Tamayama (Contemporary Artist) 3: April 20 - May 2, 2022 / Chiaki Kadota (Painter) 4: May 3 - May 16, 2022 / Neo Sora (Film Director), Aiko Masubuchi (Film Curator) *The period of these events is subject to change.   • Hotel Made Entirely of Ice Opens in Tomamu, Hokkaido

    Hoshino Resort Tomamu, one of the largest stay-and-go snow resorts in Hokkaido, will open a hotel made entirely of ice from January 20 until February 28, 2022. The ceiling, walls, and furniture will all be made of ice, and guests can also enjoy an outdoor ice bath! In addition, a new Ice Dinner will be on offer, where visitors can enjoy a beautiful table surrounded by ice overlooking a forest of white birches while staring up at the starry winter sky.The seamless dome-shaped ice structure is about 8.5 meters in diameter and 3.5 meters high. Sleeping bags will be provided to guests to keep them warm and comfortable until morning.Visitors can enjoy a hot spring in the open winter air in Shimukappu Village’s Scan Portopia Yunosawa Onsen.    The aforementioned Ice Dinner features three ice-themed dishes and welcomes guests to sit at a table made entirely of ice surrounded by majestic nature.   The appetizer includes iced vegetables like tomatoes, bell peppers, and cauliflower. Each is dipped in a warm garlic sauce, balancing the sweetness of the veggies, which become more sugary when cold.    The main course, Iceberg Bouillabaisse, is covered with ice. This begins to melt as the soup pot is slowly heated in front of the guests, revealing gorgeous seafood like cod and shrimp. It’s a feast for the eyes as well as the tastebuds!   The frozen fruit dessert mixes strawberries and kiwis with hot wine and a touch of cinnamon. Sweet and sour flavors come together to end the night on a high note.
  • Starbucks Japan Introduces New Hojicha meets Caramel Cream Frappuccino

    Starting December 26, 2021, participating Starbucks locations in Japan began selling the ‘Hojicha meets Caramel Cream Frappuccino,’ the ‘Hojicha meets Caramel Cream Tea Latte,’ and the ‘Oolong meets Citrus Tea Latte.’ Each beverage is available in hot or cold versions.    The Hojicha meets Caramel Cream Frappuccino combines roasted green tea (hojicha) with a sweet caramel sauce.

      The Frappupccino contains a base made with hojicha and black tea, mixed with a hojicha-infused caramel sauce that contains roasted hojicha powder. The flavor is deep and rich, without too much sweetness. The Hojicha meets Caramel Cream Tea Latte mixes in fresh cream and white mocha syrup to bring out the flavor of the tea. Perfect for a dreary winter day, the drink is topped with whipped cream and caramel sauce.   

    Oolong meets Citrus Tea Latte / Hojicha meets Caramel Cream Tea Latte /Caramel Apple Redbush Tea

      The Oolong meets Citrus Tea Latte combines TEAVANA Zen Clouds Oolong tea, with its refreshing scent and flavor, with steamed milk. Topped with a freeze-dried blend of Satsuma mandarin and yuzu peels, it tastes just like the winter season. Oolong tea pairs well with slightly tart fruits, with the milk and whipped cream cutting the acidity of the citrus. The Caramel Apple Redbush Tea combines classic South African Redbush tea with apple cinnamon pulp, topped with fresh whipped cream and caramel sauce.   These limited-edition drinks will be on the menu until January 18, 2022.
