The Valentines mood is setting scene on the street in Japan as we stroll hand-in-hand through the loving month of February.
As we edge closer to Valentine’s Day, popular cafés in Japan are already serving up limited edition menus for the special day. Let’s take a look.
Kawaii Monster Café (Harajuku)
Harajuku’s iconic monster café has introduced 3 new items onto the menu for Valentine’s Day, available now until March 14th. If you’re looking to experience something different this year, then look no further than the Kawaii Monster Café, the only place that serves up the most colourful meals and desserts.
Cinnamoroll Cafe (Shinjuku / Kyoto)
The official café based on Sanrio’s popular puppy character Cinnamoroll have introduced two Valentine’s items onto their menu, as well as merchandise. These kawaii goodies are made with chocolate, fresh cream and strawberries. But the Cinnamoroll toppings might make them far too cute to eat!
ROLL ICE CREAM FACTORY (Harajuku / Osaka)
The ROLL ICE CREAM FACTORY is celebrating both Valentine’s Day & White Day this year. The colourful eye-catching arch made from marshmallows and lovey-dovey teddy bears holding hands at the bottom of the rainbow make this a super cute treat!
For the Valentines season only, MOMI＆TOY’S are selling their first ever selection of latte art crepes: choose from either the “Chocolate Heart Dark” or “Chocolate Heart White.” The smooth melt-in-the-mouth premium whipped cream together with the shop’s “Torokeru Crepe” make for a perfect match. You’ll become addicted to the full-bodied flavour of the rich milk!
CROQUANTCHOU ZAKUZAKU (Harajuku / Kamata / Ikebukuro)
The cream puff experts at CROQUANTCHOU ZAKUZAKU will release two new products for Japan’s two romantic seasons: the dark chocolate clad “Zaku Zaku Noir” for Valentine’s Day and white chocolate “Zaku Zaku Blanc” for White Day. These are perfect as a little gift for that special someone.
Anywhere Door (Harajuku)
The “Harajuku Ringo” sold at Anywhere Door is a fruit cake that’s created to look just like a real apple. The Harajuku café are selling special Valentine’s Day versions of their popular apple-shaped cakes made with smooth dark chocolate, giving them that tinge of elegance. But you’d best be quick if you want one because you have to reserve them!
