Japanese boy band Kis-My-Ft2 have released their new music video for Because I Love You which features on the B-version of their forthcoming single LOVE dropping on July 11.

It has also been announced that Because I Love You will be used in a commercial for LIVE DAM STADIUM that will begin airing from July 11.

Kis-My-Ft2 – “Because I Love You” Music Video -Dance Edition-

‘Love songs in and out’ is the theme for the group’s new single this summer and includes Because I Love You as well as L.O.V.E. which was used for an Uwa Kowa Cool beverage commercial.

Because I Love You talks about young love during our school days, calling it wistful and something we should treasure. This is the first single from the group to be such an emotional R&B ballad.

The music video included on the DVD of the First Press B edition of the single is the dance edition―which is also featured on YouTube―where we get to see their impressive dance skills. The members bring to life the feeling and emotion of the lyrics with their entire bodies. You could call this new grounds for Kis-My-Ft2. Their voices, too, are emotional and sensual. And as well as the main music video, the DVD also includes dance separate parts for the chorus from each member.

The music video is a step up for the members as they celebrate 7 years since their debut. It’s clear to see they have matured and come a long way.

Below are comments from the members regarding the new song and music video.

Kitayama Hiromitsu

“It’s a very cool song, so we shot each and every scene and our performances with great care. Please be sure to check out each of our dance parts.

Fujigaya Taisuke

We challenged ourselves to bringing out emotion in this video. I hope you can feel it.

Tamamori Yuta

It was very tough conveying the song’s sense of emotion with just singing and the video. I’d particularly like people to pay attention to the emotional scene at the beginning of the song.”

Kis-My-Ft2 are currently on a dome tour titled LIVE TOUR 2018 Yummy!! you&me. They’re set to bring the love to all this summer.

  • Kis-My-Ft2’s New Single ‘Kimi, Boku.’ Ranks No. 1 on Oricon Charts

    10.October.2018 | MUSIC

Kis-My-Ft2’s new single Kimi, Boku. dropped on October 3 and has made it into Oricon’s latest Weekly Single Rankings, selling 195,000 copies in its first week. This is the 22nd record from the seven-member boy band that has reached number one since their debut.

The song is currently being used in a commercial in which the members also appear for a new heating pad product by KOWA.

Kimi, Boku. is a pop song about love and the thoughts and feelings Kis-My-Ft2 want to convey. The CD cover photo (above) has also been unveiled featuring the group’s new concept for the release that sees each member with their own respective colours painting onto a white canvas – as seen in their music video for the song.

The single also comes coupled with a blank version of the CD cover inside the booklet for fans to colour in. This has blown up along with the hashtag #君僕お絵描きジャケット which is seeing fans sharing their coloured-in pieces on social media. It has meant that each and every person has their own unique CD cover for Kimi, Boku..

Another hashtag #ソライロ was also created for the song Sorairo (‘colour of the sky’) which is coupled on the single. Fans have been posting pictures of different skies such as the colour of the sky during a certain memory they remember, their favourite sky, how the sky looked when they want to the band’s live show and so on.

These two hashtags are a result of the band members posting their own coloured-in CD covers and pictures of the sky, causing fans to follow suit.

Kis-My-Ft2 – “Kimi, Boku.” – How to do the “Kis-Tep”

The music video for Kimi, Boku. drew much attention for a new kind of high-speed shuffle dance the members have dubbed “Kis-Tep.” The band even posted a choreography video (above) showing how to do it properly.

Playlists are also set to be posted in the future.

Taisuke Fujigaya, representing the band, had the following to say about the Oricon announcement.

“All of us are extremely happy as a team. Our 22nd single ‘Kimi, Boku.’ is a very special song to the group. It contains the message ‘I’m here because you’re here’ and is a song that’s tied to our tour this year.”

  • Kis-My-Ft2 Show Off Their Shuffle Dance Skills in Music Video for New Song ‘Kimi, Boku.’

    13.September.2018 | MUSIC

Seven-member Japanese boy group Kis-My-Ft2 have released the music video to their new single Kimi, Boku. which is set to hit shelves on October 3.

Having completed their first dome tour, the boys are now making their way onto new things. During this year’s tour, the whole crowd held white penlights in their hands which has led the group to dye their image in the colour of that white canvas in their new music video. The short version can be seen below – you’ll have to get your hands on a copy of the single if you want the full version.

The white buildings on the music video set are inspired by those on the island of Santorini located southeast of mainland Greece.

The members, all donning white, perform a street dance like that from a musical before painting the world of the music video with their own respective colours. It’s a combination of “beauty and cutey” that stands out from all of their other music videos.

What’s drawing the most attention however is their dance performance.

The members perform what they call the “Kis-Tep” which is their own high-speed take on the popular shuffle dance. Legs are the focal point of the original shuffle, but Kis-My-Ft2 incorporate colourful umbrellas to create an original and vivid performance.

If you get your hands on a copy of the single’s First Press Edition A you can watch a lecture by the members on how to do the Kis-Tep.

The lyrics are also grabbing fans’ attention as they are littered with references to each members’ colour.

kiiro chikatetsu, “yellow underground” (Tamamori Yuta)

makka ni saishiki zuite, “dyed bright red” (Kitayama Hiromitsu)

・sumiwataru sora wa mizuiro no haikei, “the clear sky is a light blue background” (Senga Kento)

・kureyuku paapuru no machinami, “the purple streets grow dark” (Miyata Toshiya)

guriin no gairoju, “the green roadside” (Nikaidō Takashi)

pinku no ringukeesu, “pink ring case” (Fujigaya Taisuke)

orenji no tawaa, “orange tower” (Yokoo Wataru)

Each of these lyrics are sang as solo parts for each member. This is the group’s 22nd single and in their 7 year career, this marks the first time each member has had their own distinct solo parts in a song.

Members’ Comments on the New Song & Music Video

    Kitayama Hiromitsu

“This is a sung unlike any other from us. It’s fresh. The filming of the music video was over in the blink of an eye, it was fun.”

    Tamamori Yuta

“The Kis-Tep dance we perform was difficult, but we all came together and practiced hard! It’s the highlight of the music video so I want lots of people to see it.”

    Senga Kento

“The grand staircase decorated in each members’ colours was really beautiful. We filmed it with that classic idol feeling.”

Kis-My-Ft2 celebrated their 7 year anniversary on August 10. They are sure to keep going full force into the future.
