Kenshi Yonezu’s ‘LOSER’ Music Video Hits 100 Million Views & YouTube Channel Hits 2 Million Subscribers

At the same time Kenshi Yonezu’s official YouTube channel hit 2 million subscribers, his hit music video for LOSER reached 100 million views at midnight (JST) on July 6.

 

This is fourth music video from the Japanese pop/rock artist to surpass 100 million views alongside LemonAine Kuraine and Uchiage Hanabi.

 

LOSER is the lead track from LOSER / Number Nine which was released as a double A-side single on September 28, 2016. The music video marked the first featuring Yonezu dancing by himself and was a huge hit with fans. It has been called this generation’s anthem, with its piercing lyrics and hybrid sound.

 

The song drew even more attention in May this year when it was used in Honda’s “JADE” commercial. The moment the ad went on air, the song shot up to number 1 on the Oricon Digital Weekly Rankings. Even halfway into 2018 the song ranks high at number 8. Users gathered around the music video once more on YouTube and quickly it surpassed 100 million views.
