Kenshi Yonezu’s new double A-side single Flamingo / TEENAGE RIOT will drop imminently on October 31. The music video for the track TEENAGE RIOT broke onto on YouTube days before the release on October 29.

The music video was seen even earlier to the surprise of fans at Kenshi Yonezu’s special two-date shows at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 1-3 on October 27 and 28 held in promotion of the new single. He also performed the songs live for the first time on both nights.

It is the first black-and-white music video from the singer-songwriter and features a fierce performance from both himself and a backing band.

During the performance of the song in Chiba the music video was played on the back screen. The crowd’s vision was fully focused on the sight before them as a live band stepped onto stage and played at the same time as the band in the video.

The music video was handled by film director Kyotaro Hayashi. It’s a simple but visually striking feast to the eyes and a song that looks back to Yonezu in his teenagehood. See it for yourself below.
