If you’re in Japan during the winter season and are looking for something to do then we’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of events taking place in Tokyo and Kyoto this month.
Neko Yasumi Exhibition in Yokohama Minato Mirai
The Neko Yasumi Exhibition is currently taking place at MARK IS Minato Mirai until January 14, bringing together a collection of cat photos and merchandise from popular cat content creators.
More than 400 pieces are on display to satisfy the needs of cat lovers out there. There’s plenty of exclusive Yokohama-only merchandise as well as information on new merchandise to see, so pounce on down.
Kyoto Tower is holding a stamp rally from December 25 to January 31 themed on the ongoing anime series Okoshiyasu, Chitose-chan. The stamp rally has participants collecting stamps from three places that appear in the anime series: the Kyoto Municipal Subway, Kyoto Aquarium and Kyoto Tower.
Each spot earns you a unique stamp based on that location. What’s more is that if you get involved, the first 1,000 people at each spot will receive an original Chitose-chan folder (pictured below). Kyoto Tower has also been decorated with panels and boards displaying scenes from the anime, allowing for a full Chitose-chan experience.
Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System in JOYPOLIS Puzzle Game
Haregake, a creator of riddle-solving games that have brought in over 100,000 participants, has developed an all-new puzzle game called “Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System in JOYPOLIS” that is set to run at the indoor theme park TOKYO JOYPOLIS in Daiba, Tokyo from January 11 to March 17.
You will take the role of an executive officer and use your smartphone to talk with Shinya Kogami, Nobuchika Ginoza and Shuusei Kagari to gather clues and solve the puzzles. An incident with unknown origins took place that led to a murder… Will you be able to identify and stop the killer?
Corona Extra is a style of drinking served with a slice of lime love by people all over the world. Corona Winter Escape is an all-new brand campaign to promote enjoying winter with Corona’s platform, “This is Living.”
For the campaign you can look forward to the Corona Winter Sauna, an enjoyable outdoor winter sauna opening at Shimokitazawa Cage, as well as Corona Escape, a bar in the snow situated at an altitude of 1,450m in Hakuba, Nagano.
The sauna is an authentic Finnish “löyly“ sauna in a tent, paired with outdoor baths to cool yourself down. The cool water bath and fresh air is a great combination to enhance your mind and body after which you can enjoy an ice cold Corona Extra to experience that “Winter Escape.” The event will be open from January 19 to March 17 in collaboration with Keio Dentetsu.
The Corona Escape Terrace offers a view of the snow-covered mountains which can be enjoyed with a Corona Extra in hand.
