Tokyo Disney Resort® Announces 2019 Easter Event

17.January.2019 | SPOT

Disney Easter will run from April 4 to June 2 this year at Tokyo DisneySea® and Tokyo Disneyland®. This marks the first time in two years that both parks will have different themes for Easter this year.

Tokyo DisneySea’s Easter theme this year is an entirely new concept. Usa-Piyo, the cute chicken-rabbit mutation from the LINE messenger app, will make his first ever appearance alongside the Disney cast. Piyo’s design will look like he has just been born from an Easter egg.

The story begins with Mickey Mouse finding a Easter eggs with chicks drawn on them while he is preparing for Easter. Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck draw ears onto the eggs. A short while later Usa-Piyo is born from the eggs, and he is joined by more of his kind as more begin to hatch.

A new 25-minute show titled Tip-Top Easter will also take place at Mediterranean Harbor three times a day. It will include a fun Easter fanfare and newly-born Usa-Piyo chicks will make an appearance to put on a fantastic Easter show with Mickey Mouse. There will also be photo spots at the Harbor as well as at American Waterfront for people to get closer to Usa-Piyo. Expect a whole bunch of Usa-Piyo excitement with decorations and more.

There will also be an Easter egg hunt taking place along the parade route themed on rabbit-eared Easter eggs that have “run away.” Decorations of these eggs will be scattered around Tokyo Disneyland in various locations. Special merchandise and food will also be sold.
