Naruto, Gintama & More―UNIQLO Releases Manga-Inspired T-Shirt Series MANGA UT

Japanese retailer UNIQLO, which owns the T-shirt collection “UT” is developing a subseries called “MANGA UT” which is a collection based on world famous anime and manga. The new collection will be launched at UNIQLO stores nationwide and on the online store from Monday 27th May 2019.

This year the collection offers items for women too, so everyone can enjoy an even larger variety of products. This year, Detective Conan, Boruto – Naruto Next Generations and Naruto Shippuden are featuring in the collection for the first time. This will be the first time that a solo Detective Conan item is released.

  • Billie Eilish x Takashi Murakami Collaborate Once Again For UNIQLO UT Fashion Collection

    Billie Eilish and Takashi Murakami have joined hands once again to drop a new clothing collection in UNIQLO’s graphic T-shirt brand UT.

     

    Billie made her debut when she was 13, and just five years later, her music is spearheading the charts and industry. Back in January this year, at 18-years-old, Billie won five Grammy Awards and hailed as the youngest person to win all four of the main Grammy categoriesーBest New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year. She is also only the second person to win all four in the same year.

    The collection will be available online from May 25, 2020 and in stores from May 29, 2020 as they reopen.

    Billie and Murakami’s friendship started when they sent each other messages on Instagram. Billie performed at Summer Sonic in Japan in 2018. During her time in the country, she met with Murakami and together they completed an animated music video for her hit track you should see me in a crown which was released last April.

  • Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 T-Shirts Releasing by UNIQLO’s UT Brand

    UNIQLO’s graphic T-shirt brand UT it collaborating with the forthcoming anime film Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 to release a collection of T-shirts at UNIQLO stores across Japan and their online store on April 17, 2020.

     

    The film, which is set for release on June 27, 2020, will wrap up the Rebuild of Evangelion film series as the fourth and final entry. The T-shirts in the collection feature completely original and exclusive designs.

     

    Designs take inspiration from memorable scenes

    The collection is comprised of 8 original T-shirt designs which were drawn exclusively for UT, ranging from Evanglion Unit-01, Unit-00, and Unit-01 to popular character Kaworu, and the first-ever Unit-00 Berserk mode T-shirt design. Fans of the Evangelion world are sure to appreciate all the little details.

  • Dr. Stone, Haikyu!!, & Gintama Theme Songs to be Featured On BURNOUT SYNDROMES Anime Concept Album

    Three-piece Japanese band BURNOUT SYNDROMES announced at the finale of their solo tour at Namba Hatch in Osaka, their home city, that they will release an anime concept album of their best anime songs.

     

    Entitled BURNOUT SYNDROMEZ, the record will be released on March 25, 2020, and will feature theme songs they have performed for various anime series, such as Dr. StoneHaikyu!!Gintama, and more.

    The album will contain a total of 12 tracks, including their latest single PHOENIX which is used as the opening theme for the ongoing TV anime series Haikyu!! To The Top, as well all of their anime songs to date, two new songs, a remix, a rearrangement, and more.

    Anime fans can expect to hear some seriously popular tracks like the second opening theme FLY HIGH!! from season two of Haikyu!!ーwhich was the band’s debut singleーas well as the season three opening theme Hikari Are. It also includes their third single Hana Ichi Monme which is the first ending theme of Gintama: Shirogane no Tamashii-hen, the first Dr Stone opening theme Good Morning World, and so on.

    The album is a must-have for both anime, manga and game fans as well as fans of BURNOUT SYNDROMES. First Press Edition copies of the album come with the band’s first-ever Blu-ray which will feature eight music videos and live performances of six songs from their tour last year.   • Universal Cool Japan 2020 Finally Begins: Attack on Titan, Monster Hunter World & More

    This year’s Universal Cool Japan finally opened at Universal Studios Japan on Tuesday, where it is set to run until June 28, bringing together the ‘cool’ aspects of Japan enjoyed by the rest of the world. Four internationally beloved franchises take the spotlight for 2020: Attack on Titan, Monster Hunter World, Detective Conan, and Lupin III.

     

    A host of lucky guests were able to experience the attractions before anyone else. Today, we hear their review and comments of the all-new rides, attractions, live shows and restaurants centred around the four big contenders which serve to fully immerse fans in their incredible worlds.

     

    Attack on Titan’s first XR ride

    The Attack on Titan manga series has celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. For this year’s Universal Cool Japan, the internationally-acclaimed series welcomes its first ever XR ride, as well as its own “Survey Corps Diner.”

    Guests wear VR goggles that transport them into a 360° rendering of the world of Attack on Titan, with life-size Titans appearing before their very eyes. Guests ride a roller coaster and fly alongside the Survey Corps. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to soar up high with ODM maneuver gear, now’s your chance. The Attack on Titan XR Ride offers a thrill like no otherーone so tense you’ll be left wondering whether you will survive.

    The themed restaurant, “Attack on Titan Survey Corps Diner,” is so realistic to a quality you wouldn’t believe, with the Survey Corps members’ weapons and personal belongings left casually around the place. Guests can feel immersed as they listen to the conversations between the characters will chowing down on their meal, take a photo with life-sized versions of Levi and Hange, and more.

     

    Detective Conan World’s two new attractions with Shuichi Akai have fans screaming

    At Detective Conan World, fans can expect to see the appearance of the hugely popular character Shuichi Akai who is set to star in the upcoming animated film Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet (releasing April 17, 2020). Four rides and attractions can be enjoyed at Detective Conan World, including the manga series’ first-ever story-packed roller coaster named Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream: The Ride.

    Guests can also look forward to joining Conan solve cases in Detective Conan: The Escape ~The Scarlet Bullet~, an escape game featuring an original story and a live performance by a real cast. Participants will make use of AR technology and solve the cases within the time limit to escape. Expect appearances from familiar faces too like Rachel Moore, Richard Moore, and others.

    In Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream: The Ride, you’ll be placed in the passenger seat with Akai on the wheel who will use some extreme driving techniques to shake off the criminal. Look forward to plenty of thrills in this immersive experience.

    There’s also the Detective Conan Mystery Challenge in which guests take a hands-on approach to solve various incidents around the theme park. Harley Hartwell, Kazuha Toyama, and Tomoya’s love rival Momiji Ooka are also present in this game with in the form of a real-life cast.

    Fans can also tuck into some mystery-themed food at the Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant which combines food and live entertainment. Fans reacted overwhelmingly to the appearance of Masumi Seraーthe sister of Akai. There’s also appearances from Amuro Tooru and Serena Sebastian too.

     

    Lupin the Third: The Live

     

    Witness a live cast playing the roles of the popular Lupin III, Daisuke Jigen, Goemon Ishikawa XIII, Fujiko Mine, and Koichi Zenigataーthe latter of which is trying to chase down Lupin. It features live entertainment by real cast members who will perform right before guests. The reaction to this live show has been overwhelming as guests feel like they are running through Delancey Street in New York with Lupin in this interactive story.

They are serving up authentic Italian cuisine.

    Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR WALK

    The Monster Hunter video game franchise is loved the world over, and is appearing once more at Universal Cool Japan after two years. Use interactive VR technology and go hunting in the world of Iceborne, the hit expansion to Monster Hunter World, in an experience so immersive you’ll forget about the real world.

  • Detective Conan Unveils Official YouTube Channel and Streams Episodes Daily

    Today, ytv media design and Yomiuri TV launched an official YouTube channel for the popular anime Detective Conan. The YouTube channel intends to cherish the series from the start of Conan to today. Starting from episode one, the episodes will be streamed in order. Two episodes will be streamed per day from 19:00 until the end of season 5 (episode 218), meaning that all episodes will have been streamed by around mid-2020. 

     

    The YouTube channel has already released a dance video where Conan is seen dancing to the anime’s brand new opening theme song that was released in January 2020. The channel intends to continue periodically releasing exciting contents such as a trailer for the upcoming movie Detective Conan The Scarlet Bullet which is set to premiere this year on April 17. By subscribing to this channel, fans can access the latest Conan news.

  • Gintama Anime Movie Announced For Early 2021 Release

    It was announced on Niconico live stream on Saturday December 21 that the Gintama anime series is getting a new film adaptation which is set for release in early 2021. The live stream was hosted by three of the voice actors: Tomokazu Sugita (Sakata Gintoki), Daisuke Sakaguchi (Shinpachi Shimura), and Rie Kugimiya (Kagura).

     

    Gintama is an internationally beloved manga series written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi that is serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga has sold over 55 million copies. This will be the series’ third animated film after Gintama: The Movie (2010) and Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya (2013).


    The key visual released for the upcoming film features the three characters on Gintoki’s set, each of them with their own director’s chair, symbolising the “shooting” of the film.

     

    In an interview with the three voice actors, they were asked to give a message to fans anticipating the release of the film.

    Tomokazu Sugita (Sakata Gintoki): “We’re waiting for the voice recording to start too and ask for your support.”

     

    Daisuke Sakaguchi (Shinpachi Shimura): “Are we really doing this? I really can’t believe it <laughs>. Will this the last one? Are we being deceived again? In any case, I’ll be sure to work hard. Look foward to it!”

     

    Rie Kugimiya (Kagura): “The movie is official, and information about it has been released. I always wondered if we’d do it [again] someday, so now I can get a grip on reality. I want to look forward to it with everything I’ve got, and I want to work hard! Please be patient and wait for us!”

     

    Will it be an original story, or be taken from the manga series? These details have yet to be unveiled, so we look forward to hearing more information. Watch this space.

  • Fortnite T-Shirts Releasing From UNIQLO’s UT Brand

    UNIQLO has announced that it is releasing a new line of t-shirts from its graphic t-shirt brand UT themed on the internationally-beloved video game Fortnite. They will hit UNIQLO stores and UNIQLO’s online shop in Japan on December 20, 2019.

     

    Fortnite is an online game that since releasing in 2017 from Epic Games in 2017 has gone on to become a worldwide phenomenon.

    While fans wait in anticipation for Chapter 2 Season 2, they can support their favourite game with something from this collection of 13 items, which includes t-shirts and sweaters.

     

    Men’s T-Shirts

    The front part of this Durr Burger t-shirt is actually embroidered. Cool, chic designs are characteristic of this collection.

    The iconic Loot Llama, or Loot Pinata, was of course going to be included in the line-up.

    This design features the character known as Cuddle Team Leader. The front features just the logo, which is embroidered. Simple but stylish.

    This t-shirt simply says “Fortnite” on the front while the back reads “Slurp Juice.”

     

    Men’s Sweaters

    This white hoodie simply reads “Fornite” on the front.

    Featuring the character Leviathan, this design is made in the style of a college sweater.

  • Gintama Diner: Tokyo’s Gintama Themed Cafe Heads to Animate Branches Across Japan

    Animate Cafe, a chain of cafes that collaborate with popular anime and game franchises, is teaming up with Gintama to open the Gintama Diner for a limited time at the following branches: Ikebukuro 3, Kobe Sannomiya, and Nagoya 2.

    The cafe will be inspired by American diners, and will run from December 19 to January 7 next year. Each cafe has its own system for being able to dine there. The Ikebukuro 3 and Kobe Sannomiya branches are all reservation-only, with each daily reservation going through a lottery system for a chance to have a place allocated. The Nagoya 2 branch has the same system for December 19-20 only, otherwise it is first-come, first-served.

    Thick-Cut Bacon Burger – ¥850

    Yorozuya Gin-chan’s Sakata Parfait – ¥850

    Gin’s Strawberry☆Milk – ¥600

     

    The menu features dishes, desserts and drinks inspired by the characters of the series. The bacon burger comes with a side menu item of your choice, with each being based on a specific character’s favourite side menu item. The parfait too is bright and vivid like the Yorozuya members.

     

    When fans order from the themed menu, they’ll receive one of eight possible coasters featuring original designs.
