This luxurious tea set comes with a mix of light savoury food and desserts. But the savoury side of it isn’t your conventional assortment, instead coming with four different selections including tandoori chicken pitta bread sandwiches, a couscous and seafood salad, and more.
The scones contain sweet and fragrant rosemary honey which fill are sure to tickle your fancy.
The Pistachio Macarons and Arabian Night Blanc-Manger are glazed in a beautiful blue colour reminiscent of the world of Aladdin. And don’t forgot the cute Magic Lamp Cookie with its blue centre―it’s almost too good to eat!
Other delights include the Mango & Flower Verrine, Pyramid Mousse, and gorgeous tea that looks like it has had a spell cast on it.

Disney’s new live-action adaptation of Aladdin opened was released in Japan on June 7. To celebrate its release, two themed cafes were by OH MY CAFE in Tokyo and Osaka.
The Tokyo cafe opened at Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku on June 14 and the Osaka one at kawara CAFE & DINING on June 15. Both will run until July 15.
The MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON editorial team visited the Omotesando cafe with Japanese model Kanako to report on the cafe’s decor and design and food.
The first thing to catch your eye when you enter is Jasmine’s gorgeous and intricate dress. Photos with the dress are permitted.
Hanging from the cafe ceiling is an assortment of magic lamps while carpets are draped across the wall. Kanako went dressed up like Jasmine to enter this Aladdin-inspired world.
There are plenty of places to take great photos throughout the cafe, such as these Jasmine silhouettes illustrated on pillars.

The food of course is also based on the film. The menu includes a delicious and faithful line-up from the curry inspired by the magic lamp to Carpet’s sandwich wrap and a colourful pasta dish decorated with Jasmine and Dalia. It’s safe to say everything on the menu is Instagram-worthy.
Kanako ordered the pasta dish. She gave it a rave review, saying, “It’s colourful and cute. It’s cute it has Jasmine and Dalia too♡” We recommend this dish for those who want to eat something light.

Disney’s Aladdin live-action adaptation will be released in Europe and the Us on May 24, 2019 and in Japan on June 7, 2019. In the run up to its release, Disney Japan has revealed a new line of Jasmine themed items that will be released on the Disney Japan online store on May 14 before rolling out at Disney Stores across the country on May 21.
The items include products made in collaboration with Japanese natural cosmetics brand Laline, a brand new Disney Store original series, and Disney Princess BEAR by UniBEARsity plush toy bears.
Disney Japan’s collaboration with Laline is an eye-catching assortment of cosmetic and self-care items all of which come in refreshing packaging with white as the base colour. Each item is made with natural ingredients and all are targeted at people of all ages.
The line-up includes body scrub which contains mineral-rich dead sea salt and grapeseed oil, body mist, hand cream and more. Designs include the Jasmine range which come with fresh blue colouring and an elegant oriental flower fragrance. The Ariel range is cute pink and smells of delicate cherry blossoms. A selection of Disney original items not part of the collaboration are also being sold with the same designs.
To celebrate the release of the new Aladdin, Disney Stores in Japan are releasing an original new series. These items have an oriental mood to them with their mix of white and blue and feature a beautiful drawing of Jasmine on them. Items include a round towel which is perfect to use both indoors and outdoors. If you look closely the print also includes illustrations of the magic lamp and Genie too.
UniBEARsity is a Disney series that debuted in Japan featuring bear counterparts of Disney characters. The new “Disney Princess BEAR by UniBEARsity” are teddy bear plush toys based on Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie. Embroidered on the sole of each bears’ feet is a Genie bear. Disney Japan will also release costumes of this series too.
No fan of Disney will want to miss out on this range of cute and special Aladdin merchandise!

Recently, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu began starring in a series of promotional videos for the Gastropolis Kobe project. The artist traveled to the city to partake in plenty of delicious treats, and MOSHI MOSHI NIPPON went along for the ride! Here are some of the singer’s favorite spots around town.
Kobe, known as a city where East meets West, is lined with sweets shops that are unique to the area.
The tea salon TOOTH TOOTH Dekoboko Sabo opened in 2019 in the Kobe City Museum and offers a menu that mixes Western food and sweets with tea and ingredients from traditional Japanese cuisine. Kyary ordered the Dekoboko Sabo Afternoon Tea Set, a collection of western sweets blended with the essence of traditional Japanese flavors. Guests are invited to enjoy their tea and sweets in a one-of-a-kind space filled with Meiji period flare and retro Western furniture. Those interested will need to make a reservation, so be sure to remember the next time you’re in Kobe.

The next stop was Kobe Nankin-machi, one of the three major Chinatowns in Japan. Kobe MILK is known nationwide for its Apricot Pudding, which is made with local ingredients. The raw apricot pudding is mixed with milk brought from the foot of Mt. Rokko and other ingredients from Hyogo Prefecture. Of course, Kyary ordered some, and was amazed by its fluffy texture. You can only enjoy it in Kobe–also, the shop sells other puddings mixed with seasonal fruits, so don’t miss those either!

For Kyary’s final stop, the singer visited the Moore House, a cafe located in a building with over 100 years of history. Guests are surrounded by greenery, and the Western-style building is incredibly elegant. The Strawberry Mille-feuille Kyary ordered was created by an expert patissier and based on the strawberry mille-feuille recipe from the legendary French restaurant Maxim’s de Paris in Ginza. A generous amount of custard cream complements the crispy pie crust and enhances the sweetness of the fresh strawberries. We’d recommend it with a glass of champagne–if you’re of age.

The second Tabekko Doubutsu Cafe Stand event opened in Omotesando on November 1, 2022. Paying homage to the classic snack first released in 1978, the cafe features a number of tasty snacks inspired by the thin animal-shaped cookies popular around the world.
This second event will run through January 9, 2023. Reservations are required, and many dates were completely sold out prior to the event’s start date, particularly on weekends. We decided to visit, anxious to see what the fuss is all about.
We were first shocked to see the popular animals enjoying oden! Original goods featuring the characters enjoying the quintessential Japanese winter dish are only available at the cafe. From acrylic keychains to figures, visitors can snag some adorable merchandise to commemorate their trip to the exclusive event. Why not snag some items that would be useful on a daily basis, like a notebook or an apron?
For food, visitors can snag a special Oden Set and Chinese Dumplings, both perfect for the winter. The oden features popular ingredients like egg, daikon, fish cake, and mochikinchaku, each branded with the popular animal characters. Drinks include soy milk, green tea milk, and milk tea.
In addition to the exclusive Lion Cake which is limited to 25 servings a day, guests can find chocolate bananas and other sweets on the menu, including a Sweets Set limited to those reserving special seats at the venue. For every ¥1,000 spent on food and drink items, customers will receive one Tabekko Doubutsu trading card!
The exhibition space is a must-see for fans of this legendary snack, filled with rare works including an adorable and very colorful print of every animal holding a bowl of oden. Of course, a photo spot has been set up for visitors to take some prime shots for social media!
Don’t miss the animal meet and greet, which is making its triumphant return from the last event! Tsujiri, a staple of Uji, Kyoto, has announced an exclusive autumn menu! Guests can enjoy the Tsujiri Soft Autumn Parfait, the Kyo Latte Smoothie with Purple Sweet Potato, and the Kyo Latte with Hojicha at the Kyoto location and three other stores starting September 1, 2022.

These three limited-time items are filled with fall flavors. The Tsujiri Soft Autumn Parfait is filled with Uji green tea carefully selected by tea masters and topped with purple sweet potato paste, sweet potato nectar, and other gorgeous goodies.
The Kyo Latte Smoothie with Purple Sweet Potato features an autumn-only flavor combining purple sweet potato bean paste, cream, and sweet potato nectar with Tsujiri’s matcha green tea smoothie. The Hojicha version is made with luxurious Uji Hojicha and milk for a soothing experience.
