GROOVE X’s home robot series LOVOT is set to launch its first collaboration with Sanrio’s beloved character Hello Kitty on May 17 with the release of a limited-edition set of two robots.

Those who purchase this set receive an original cloissone ware charm, each of which has a unique serial number on it. There’s also a cute Hello Kitty outfit for dressing up your robot. The base of these robots, all of which are handmade individually, are coloured white like Hello Kitty and features her cute whiskers and red ribbon.
LOVOT launched four years ago and began selling its home robots in December 2019. This marks the company’s first tie-up with Hello Kitty, a character known to all around the world.

Ramen Inspired T-Shirt Collection Cooks Up in Collaboration With Tenkaippin
This year marks the 50th anniversary of Japanese ramen restaurant chain Tenkaippin. To celebrate, they have joined hands with men’s apparel brand MONO-MART to release a collection of ramen-inspired t-shirts in collaboration with Japanese illustrator Isogai Hitohisa. The limited-edition collection dropped on ZOZOTOWN on June 10.

Each t-shirt in this collection is branded with Tenkaippin’s logo along with their ‘KOTTERI’ logo. Other designs include illustrations by Isogai Hitohisa on the back, various photos, and so on.

OUTDOOR PRODUCTS x Jujutsu Kaisen Bag Collection Features Yuji, Megumi, and Other Character Designs
Bandai Namco Group teamed up with OUTDOOR PRODUCTS to release a collection of Jujutsu Kaisen themed bags inspired by the anime’s characters including Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo. Released on Premium Bandai last Tuesday, the collection includes backpacks, tote bags, and shoulder bags.

Hello Kitty Promotes Messages of Protecting the Earth and the SDGs in Short Movie
A section of Deloitte Tohmatsu Group and FC Imabari’s educational book Watashi, Chikyu (Me, Earth) has been turned into a short movie featuring Hello Kitty. Released on YouTube on Wednesday, the video is aimed at elementary school children to educate them on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a global initiative to create a sustainable future.
The 9-minute video takes Hello Kitty on a journey through earth’s life from 4.6 billion years ago, animal life on the planet, and the drastic changes that have come about from human activity.
At the end of the video, Hello Kitty has a message for kids: “I wanted to be in this so I can learn about what I can do for our future. I would love for this to get lots of people thinking about what they themselves can do, even if it ends up only being one person.”

YOASOBI x UNIQLO UT T-Shirt Collab Collection Releasing This July
UNIQLO’s UT collection is a line of tees created in collaboration with other brands, anime, shows, and more. On July 2, UNIQLO is teaming up with the Japanese music duo YOASOBI to release an exclusive new collection.
YOASOBI, which is comprised of Ayase and ikura, made their debut in 2020 with their hit song Yoru ni Kakeru. Since then, their music has continued to top charts in JApan.
The collection is a fusion of fashion and music in women’s and kids designs featuring stills taken from seven of the duo’s iconic music videos including Yoru ni Kakeru, Halzion, Tabun, Gunjo, Haruka, Encore, and their new track Sangenshoku.

Dress Like EarthBound’s Ness With New Era’s Hat Collection
New Era has announced its first collaboration with the Mother video game series, also known as EarthBound outside Japan. Sanrio Releases Hello Sweet Days Dress-Up App in the US, Canada, and South Korea

Digital content enterprise Cocone has made Sanrio’s popular character dress-up game Hello Sweet Days available in the US, Canada, and South Korea. The app hit the overseas countries on June 10, allowing for fans outside Japan to enjoy dressing their avatars up like their favourite Sanrio characters.
Hello Sweet Days first launched in Japan back in August 2017 and has since amassed over 2 million downloads. It rolled out to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao in 2020, and now an English version has finally been made available. There are plans to release the app to even more countries in the future.
Pre-registration opened early in South Korea on May 24 when it garnered 60,000 advance sign-ups. Those who registered early even received K-pop idol-style fashion items. Since releasing last Thursday, it is now being used by over 300,000 fans in South Korea.

Randen was founded in 1910 and remains the only tramline in Kyoto. It’s part of Keifuku Electric Railroad and runs from Shijo-Omiya to Arashiyama. The Randen Train Room is a trainspotter and train otaku’s paradise. Inside, guests will find historical photos of trams that have run as part of the Randen service, as well as other train-related motifs like a Randen priority seat chair, carriage handles, and more. There’s also a little tatami seating area which is perfect for sitting on and planning your next day’s trip, putting out souvenirs you’ve picked up, or just relaxing. Guests can also watch a DVD on the TV that looks at footage of Randen trains, and even listen to a CD that has train sounds on it.

Butter no Itoko and Samantha Thavasa opened their second collaborative store branch in the desserts area of Tokyo Skytree Solamachi last Tuesday.
Butter no Itoko is a Nasa-based confectionery company co-developed by Chus and Shinrinno Bokujo, a company specialising in milk from Jersey cattle. It opened a store in collaboration with Samantha Thavasa last year at Haneda Airport Terminal 2.
