Popular anime series Jujutsu Kaisen will receive a themed pop-up store at seven LOFT locations around Japan from November 9, 2021, until January 31, 2022.

    Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the most popular anime and manga series in the world right now. The Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition has already been held in Shibuya and Nagoya and is currently underway in Osaka. Now, it’s been announced that the exhibition will be coming to Sendai, Hiroshima, and Matsumoto as well!

    The exhibition will be divided into two phases, with different contents being displayed during each run. The first phase, “Curse Womb Must Die” and “Small Fry and Reverse Retribution,” will focus on episodes one to thirteen, while the second phase, “Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event” and “The Origin of Blind Obedience,” will focus on episode fourteen to twenty-four. Limited-edition merchandise featuring new illustrations will be available at each exhibition site.

     

    Those who purchase a ticket for the exhibition will receive a Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College student ID card featuring a random character. A life-sized figure of Satoru Gojo, created specifically for the exhibition, will be on display. Video from the series will be projected on massive screens, while guests are led through the event by an audio guide recorded by the show’s cast.

  • K-Pop Group BTS Gets TinyTAN Pop-Up Store in Tokyo

    Fans of the massively popular K-pop group BTS will recognize TinyTAN. Formerly known as ‘BTS Characters,’ these animated characters are based on the group’s members and were created by Big Hit Entertainment. Now, a TinyTAN pop-up store is coming to Shibuya from October 30, 2021, until January 23, 2022!

     

    TinyTAN characters were based on the idea that the members of BTS have a ‘second self’ inside of them. These personalities have been brought to life as adorable chibi characters, used by the group to spread positivity and happiness to fans all around the world.

  • Clorets to Begin Campaign With Popular Series Jujutsu Kaisen

    Gum and mint brand Clorets is collaborating with Jujutsu Kaisen beginning November 1, 2021. The brand’s packaging will feature designs from the popular anime series for a limited time. 

     

    Jujutsu Kaisen has become a massive hit around the world over the past year. The manga series has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2018, but it was MAPPA’s 2020 anime adaptation that drew global attention. The manga series has now sold over 55 million copies, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie is due to release on December 24, 2021. 

     

    Starting in spring 2020, Clorets has attempted to reach out to young people working during the COVID-19 pandemic. The uncertainty surrounding life and work has been difficult, and this collaboration hopes to ‘purge’ the negative emotions people are feeling by giving them a blast of minty freshness–along with some familiar characters.

    Tiger & Bunny takes place in Stern Bild City, where 45 years before, superpowered individuals called NEXT began appearing. The best-ranked hero at the end of the season is crowned King of Heroes. The original anime series ran from April until September 2011, with a film coming in 2012.      Anime Jujutsu Kaisen, based on the manga of the same name, tells the story of the Jujutsu Sorcerers who use their powers to take down the Curses born from the negative energy of humans.   • Space Hamsters BLUE HAMHAM Get Pop-Up Store at Newly-Reopened Hanshin Umeda Store

    CHOCOLATE Inc. is bringing everyone’s favorite music-eating space hamsters back to Osaka! The AUTUMN PLANET -BLUE HAMHAM POP UP SHOP- is coming to the newly-reopened Hanshin Department Store Umeda Main Store from October 8 until October 19, 2021. Designed by  Arimura Taishi, these cuddly characters have been featured by a number of popular stars, including Porter Robinson and Sia!

  • Seven OSAMU GOODS Pop-Up Shops Set to Open in Tokyo Metro Area

    Osamu Harada was one of the most beloved illustrators in Japanese history, appealing to people of all ages and backgrounds. Starting on September 23, 2021, at JR Omiya Station, a total of seven pop-up shops will appear all over Tokyo to sell both nostalgic and new Osamu Goods featuring a number of his popular characters. 

     

    The Osamu Harada exhibition began two years ago and has traveled all over Japan, attracting fans both young and old to appreciate Harada’s collection of heartwarming works. The artist passed away in 2016 at the age of 70. 

     

    Due to a recent boom on social media regarding the illustrator’s works, these pop-up stores aim to meet the current demand for Harada merchandise. Starting last year, the artist’s works have been featured in collaboration with a number of women’s fashion brands, amping up the hype even more. Those purchasing ¥2,500 or more (tax included) at the pop-up shop will receive a limited edition sticker at random (7 varieties available).
