Boy Band INI to Collaborate with SHIBUYA109 for the First Time

Up-and-coming boy band INI will be featured in a new SHIBUYA109 campaign from January 2 until January 16, 2021. The group, formed during the PRODUCE101 Japan competition, will model for the SHIBUYA109 Winter Sale at four locations around Japan, including the main Shibuya109 hub, MAGNET by SHIBUYA109, SHIBUYA109 Abeno in Osaka, and Kintetsu Passe in Nagoya.

 

An original campaign video has also been released, showing the members during the recent SHIBUYA109 photo shoot. This is available to watch at the Tokyo and Osaka locations, but for those unable to visit, it is also available on YouTube!

This will be the first time for INI to collaborate with a major fashion brand as campaign models, and images of the members will be available both inside and outside select SHIBUYA109 locations. A pop-up store is selling limited-edition items, and visitors can enjoy a special photo spot, a giveaway to win signed posters, and many other activities. The stairwell on each level of SHIBUYA109 in Tokyo has been taken over by one of the members, with handwritten messages on display until January 16. 

 

Cardio and other INI songs will be playing in the main SHIBUYA109 Tokyo location as well as MAGENT by SHIBUYA109 during the campaign. Announcements made over the shop’s intercom will be made by the members as well!

 

The INI Pop-up store will be opened in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. Everything from trading cards to acrylic stands will be on sale, with many official items only available at these limited-time locations.

  • K-Pop Group BTS Gets TinyTAN Pop-Up Store in Tokyo

    Fans of the massively popular K-pop group BTS will recognize TinyTAN. Formerly known as ‘BTS Characters,’ these animated characters are based on the group’s members and were created by Big Hit Entertainment. Now, a TinyTAN pop-up store is coming to Shibuya from October 30, 2021, until January 23, 2022!

     

    TinyTAN characters were based on the idea that the members of BTS have a ‘second self’ inside of them. These personalities have been brought to life as adorable chibi characters, used by the group to spread positivity and happiness to fans all around the world.

  • Pink Crocodile Waniyama-san from Crayon Shin-chan Gets His Own Holiday

    If you watch Crayon Shin-chan, you’re probably familiar with the pink crocodile on Shin-chan’s favorite snack, Chocobi. On August 2, 2021, a special ceremony was held at the Chocobi Store in SHIBUYA109 to commemorate the establishment of ‘Waniyama-san Day!’

    The lively ceremony was held before the Pop-Up Store’s opening to a very excited crowd, and was attended by the larger-than-life mascots of Shin-chan and Waniyama-san. These six limited-edition shops, opening all over Japan, commemorate the 15th anniversary of Chocobi’s release. Yummy snacks aren’t the only things you can grab at these colorful stores: plenty of original goods featuring Waniyama-san and Shin-chan are available!

     

    Beginning on September 1, 2021, a special campaign will begin, offering shoppers the chance to win an original (and very adorable) rubber mascot! For those who win the jackpot, you’ll have the chance to get one of three unique designs. These were created for the 15-year event and can only be obtained through this campaign, so don’t miss it!

    Shin-chan and Mr. Waniyama, the pink crocodile featured on the titular character’s favorite snack, attended the ceremony. The two received special certificates marking the occasion, and were happy to pose for the camera.

    After the ceremony concluded, the two immediately went shopping for goods in the store. They had a great time picking out some original merch, decorated with their own unique decorations.

    As soon as the store opened, people flooded in! Everyone’s eyes were glittering as they took in the sight of these new items, and everyone seemed to be having an incredible time. The colorful storefront also attracted plenty of attention, with countless people snapping commemorative photos.

  • Kiii Presents Kagimatsuri Pop-Up Shop Event to be Held in Shibuya

    Kiii has announced a pop-up shop event called Kagimatsuri which is set to run at MAGNET by SHIBUYA109 from April 23 to May 9. It will welcome a range of exclusive merchandise by popular Japanese creators, including a selection of items by famous Japanese illustrator Yuuki Kikuchi who is known for his hit 4-panel comic strip series 100 Nichi Go ni Shinu Wani which follows the story of a crocodile who doesn’t know he’s going to die in 100 days. 100 panels were released across 100 days on his Twitter page with the final comic strip garnering over 2 million likes.

  • Cute Bear Pancakes Whipped Up at IMADA KITCHEN in Tokyo’s SHIBUYA109

    IMADA KITCHEN in SHIBUYA109 has teamed up with Hattendo Cafe to co-create the new “Torokeru Kuma-san Pancakes” (Melty Mr. Beat Pancakes) which will be served from July 1, 2020 to August 30, 2020.

     

    IMADA KITCHEN is a food project that aims to create original food in Shibuya. Together with Hattendo, a Hiroshima brand known for its incredible cream pastries, they have created a super cute bear design pancake. Bear designs are popular with young girls in Japan.

    Torokeru Kuma-san Pancake: ¥450 (Before Tax)

    The fluffy pancakes are filled with melt-in-the-mouth, handmade custard cream, meaning a single bite lets you enjoy both the moist texture of the pancake and the melty drizzle of the custard cream. Your mouth is instantly filled with flavours of maple syrup and egg, which when combined with the accompanying berries makes for a sweet amalgamation of deliciousness.

    “moreru mignon” is a prikura specialized store created based on the “world of desserts” produced by the dessert artist KUNIKA. The store has been gathering much attention from young women because of its photogenic spaces which are suitable to be uploaded onto SNSs and open powder rooms.

    A dreamy wonderland of sweets – I wanted to make it a reality! This world is packed to the brim, including a large castle cake sofa, a chocolate makeup room, large donuts and parfait, and so much more! From the floor to the ceiling, the room is filled with colour. This is a world that nobody has ever seen before. Let go of reality and enter a new dimension.

    Spin around 360 degrees – everywhere you look is a perfect spot to take a photo! My top recommendation is the large cake sofa because of its large impact. Please take a seat and take a picture! In addition, there are so many mirrors everywhere – from the walls to the ceiling. Taking a picture of a reflection makes for a very interesting experience! From one photo point, there are an endless number of ways to take a picture. I want everyone to experiment with a range of angles and make their own unique photos!
