A new capsule hotel by the name of GLANSIT AKIHABARA will open its doors on October 17th this year. Located just 3 minutes’ walk from Akihabara Station, this capsule hotel is easily accessible, and stands at 10 stories high. It’s a stylish and polished building, but has natural motifs throughout, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful and tranquil time.
The hotel’s design was created by internationally active interior designer Yasumichi Morita of GLAMOROUS co., ltd. The space is lavish with trees and greenery to relieve guests’ tension so they can feel fully at ease. It also uses copper foil in its details, giving it an urban and sophisticated air.
Greeting guests at the hotel entrance is the fresh smell of plants and flowers. At every turn of the hotel, from the earthen-coloured bedding area and lounge, is placed materials associated with nature, showing the hotel’s hospitality not just in its functional aspect but its make up too.
Beds are fitted with original mattresses provided in joint development with bedding manufacturer Tokyo Nishikawa. The mattresses ensure a good night’s sleep, providing excellent body weight distribution and supporting people’s sleeping style. The hotel also offers semi-private half rooms as part of their premium package. They come with a desk, allowing you to work on your laptop and providing extra comfort.
The hotel also has a 24-hour lounge open to males and females. It comes with wi-fi, newspapers, magazines, books, a drinks server and more. It can be used for just about anything, whether its desk work, relaxation, group conversations. It can be used just like a café.
Glansit Akihabara also offers a flexible plan for however long guests need to stay. The “Shukuhaku Plan” (overnight plan) requires checking in and checking out and can be utilised for 17 hours, 21 hours, 22 hours or 26 hours. There’s also the shorter “Kyuukei Plan” (rest plan) for 1 hour, 3 hours, 5 hours and 8 hours for people who need to relax, doze, shower and so on. The price for the overnight begins at ￥3,500 and the rest plan begins at ￥980.
Security in a lot of capsule hotels is often a cause for concern, but at Glansit Akihabara, each floor is divided into male and female sections, and there is restricted entry with the IC doors in place. The hotel promises a comfortable space and peace of mind, meaning you don’t have to worry about the opposite sex on the bed floors, baths or lounge.
There are lockers available big enough to fit a suitcase, so you can fit your valuables in there no problem.
